The Truth that was kept Secret (Naruto fanfic)

The graduation exam

Another three years had passed. I now had joined the ANBU and spent my time off with my teammates - if they weren't on missions - or Naruto or Sasuke. Sometimes, I would spent time with Naruto and Sasuke at the same time, much to their displease. Naruto had become very talkative and hyperactive. He even came up with the catchphrase: 'Dattebayo!'.

"NEE-CHAN! WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE HERE TOO?!" Naruto shouted.

"Shut up, dope." Sasuke told Naruto.

"Naruto, I'm still a shinobi and I have missions to carry out. I don't have all the time of the world to spent with you alone." I replied to Naruto's question.

"Nee-chan, can you tell us stories from your past missions? Where you were totally kicking the enemy's ass!" Naruto exclaimed happily.

"Some other time, I first need to go on a mission." I replied. I looked at Sasuke, who was deeply thinking about something. "Sasuke, what's wrong?" I asked him.

"It's just that Itachi always used that excuse." Sasuke replied. I knew Itachi. We were friends when we were younger and I might have had a crush on him for a while. I still couldn't believe he would kill his entire clan, only letting his little brother live, just to test his limits.

I gave them both a closed eyes smile. "Don't worry, I won't be like him. I'll be back within one week. Don't get into trouble when I'm gone, Naruto. And don't let those fangirls take over your life, Sasuke." I told them both before leaving.

When I came back after one week, I saw that the Hokage's faces were painted and I heard angry voices screaming Naruto's name. 'Naruto, I thought I told you to stay out of trouble..." I thought. Well, Naruto is Naruto and I couldn't expect him to not do something like this.

I reported my mission, had a chat with the Hokage and walked past the Academy. I looked into the window and saw Naruto turning into a nude girl with clouds covering some parts. Iruka got a major nosebleed and scolded him. I smirked. He would definitely be able to get Jiraya's - aka Ero-sennin - attention. Jiraya was my godfather and he also was Naruto's godfather.

I waited for Naruto. He came out with a sad face. When he saw me, he gave me a bright smile before hugging me. "NEE-CHAN!"

"So how was school today?" I asked. Before Naruto could answer, Iruka came out and told Naruto to clean the Hokage's heads. When I offered to help, Iruka was surprised.

"You know, if you want, we could get some ramen if you hurry up cleaning." Iruka offered. Naruto quickly cleaned even faster than before. "How about you, Fuyu?"

"No thank you. I'll pay for myself. I'm warning you, for a kid, Naruto surely eats a lot."

We went to Ichiraku's and ordered some ramen. I was the first one to be done and payed. "See you tomorrow, Naruto. Good luck with the graduation exam." I waved them goodbye and stood outside for a while. I heard Naruto laugh, sounding happy. I smiled, I loved to see him happy.

The next day, I had a day off and I was going to spent it with my teammates when they were back from their mission. I first went to the Academy to see if Naruto passed. When I came there, I saw people laughing at a blonde kid on the swing: Naruto. I waited for the parent's to leave with their children.

Just when I wanted to go to Naruto, I saw that Mizuki was talking to him. What would he want to tell him? When he was done, I went to Naruto. "Are you okay?" I asked.

Naruto shook his head. "I failed again." he said.

I gave him a closed eyes smile. "That won't happen next time. I'll help you training whenever I've got time." I told him before kissing him on the forehead. Naruto got off the swing and went home. I went towards the gate to wait for my teammates. Not being to tell Naruto anything, was hard. Iying would make things less awkward sometimes.

"Naruto stole a forbidden scroll. We need to find him!" the Hokage said. He told it to a group of chunin, jounin and some ANBU. 'Naruto, what are you doing?' I thought. We all left to find Naruto and I went in the direction of the forest. I couldn't find him, until I felt his chakra, along with Iruka's and Mizuki's. I went that way and saw Iruka bowing over Naruto with a large shuriken in his back.

"Iruka-sensei, why would you..." Naruto muttered. Iruka told him he deeply cared for him and that he needed to run, but Naruto stayed put.

"Naruto, give me the scroll!" Mizuki shouted.

"Naruto, go!" I yelled before coming out. "We'll make sure Mizuki won't go after you!"

Naruto ran away, but when Mizuki wanted to go after him, Iruka and I prevented him. After a while, Iruka said I should stay here while he was going to stop Mizuki. "Iruka! Why would you go alone?" I asked him. "Why won't you let me help?"

"I don't want you to get hurt." Iruka replied before taking off. I secretly followed him, but didn't do anything. When I wanted to protect Naruto, he made shadow clones and beat the crap out of Mizuki.

"I won't let you harm Iruka-sensei and Fuyu-chan!" he had told him. Now he was laughing sheepishly. "I overdid it a little, didn't I?" he asked.

I gave him a kiss on his forehead. "You did great Naruto. You will become a great Hokage." I said. "Don't let people tell you otherwise."

Iruka signed Naruto to go to him. Naruto closed his eyes and when he could open them, Iruka's headband was gone. "Congratulations on graduating, Naruto." Iruka said with a smile.

"Let's go and get some ramen. You have definitely deserved it." I said. I gave him a piggyback ride all the way to Ichiraku's. The rest of the night was filled with happiness and laughter.
