The Truth that was kept Secret (Naruto fanfic)

The attack on the village

Fuyu's pov

It was time for the third round of the Chunin exams. Only Naruto and Sasuke weren't here yet. Coming to think of it, Kakashi wasn't here either. 'Damn you, Kakashi, always late...'

"NARUTO UZUMAKI IS HERE!" I heard an all too familiar voice. Naruto.

"You're late." Shikamaru stated. "But you're earlier than Sasuke.

"Let's begin with the first match. Sasuke'll be here eventually." I stated. "Let's just hope for him he won't be that late." Everyone went upstairs, besides me, Naruto and Neji. "Start." I said.

The match was intense. At first it looked like Neji was winning, because he had blocked Naruto's chakra flow. But then Naruto used the nine tails chakra and could move on. There was a long talk, where Neji talked about his past and the fight continued again. Naruto won by striking Neji from underneath by using Kage Bunshin. "Winner, Naruto Uzumaki." I declared. "Next match, Shikamaru Nara vs Temari from the Sand."

Shikamaru was pushed from behind and fell on the ground. "This is such a drag..." he muttered.

"Stop complaining!" Naruto yelled at him. "Don't you want to become chunin?!"

"Just start already..." I muttered. "We don't have all day..."

The fight was long. Shikamaru used his Shadow possession technique, but Temari avoided it. At the end, Shikamaru had used the hole Naruto had created to capture Temari. He raised his hand and gave up because he didn't have any chakra left. I was surprised by this guy's IQ, I would ask Asuma later about it. "Winner, Temari." I said. They both went upstairs.

"Next match, Kankuro vs Shino Aburame." I said, but Kankuro forfitted. "Winner, Shino Aburame." I exclaimed.

"The last match, Gaara of the Desert vs Sasuke Uchiha." I told everyone. 'Dammit Kakashi, we already moved this match to the last one, and you still haven't showed up!' I thought.

After giving them a time limit, they finally showed up at the last second. "Sorry we're late, we lost track on time." Kakashi said.

"You're just in time, Kakashi, Sasuke. Your match has been moved to the last one. Hurry up, so we can start it." I told them. Kakashi disappeared and appeared upstairs.

"Start." I said before jumping away. I watched the fight from a short distance. Sasuke wanted to attack Gaara, using his speed, but Gaara made a ball of sand to protect him. Sasuke ended up using Chidori. 'What in the world were you thinking, Kakashi? Teaching him a technique like that?!" When Sasuke hit the ball, he had hit Gaara too. Gaara screamed because he was bleeding. Suddenly, I was attacked by a man from the Sand village.

"What's the meaning of this?!" I snapped at him. "Suna and Konoha have an alliance!"

The man smirked. "Not anymore." he said. I noticed Gaara, Temari, Kankuro and Sasuke were getting away from the arena.

"What are you planning to do? How did you get the idea anyway?" I asked my attacker.

"Look up." he said. I looked up, and saw that the Hokage was caught in a huge purple box no one could get in, even the ANBU couldn't. I realized he wasn't alone. The Kazekage was fighting him. I quickly turned towards my attacker again.

"You're a tough one, I'll admit." I told him. "But you're not fighting an ordinary jounin." I suddenly appeared behind him, holding a kunai in front of his neck. "Now, tell me, what is Gaara and why are you attacking this village?" The man chuckled. "Don't think so low of me, I'll break every single bone in your body until I get an answer." I told him. "So if you don't want to live the rest of your life utterly painful, I suggest you talk."

The man told me that is was an order from the Kazekage and that Gaara had a demon inside him they would use as a weapon. I knocked him out to help out the rest. It didn't seem like Gai and Kakashi needed help, though. I went to help the ANBU, who were trying to get to the Hokage.

"Have you found a way to get to Hokage-sama already?" I asked them.

They shook their heads. "We did find out one thing." one of them said. "The Kazekage is Orochimaru."

"I see." I said. "Is there anything I can do?" The one who answered me shook his head. "We'll be fine." he said.  I nodded and decided to go after Sasuke. "Summoning jutsu!" I exclaimed before placing my hands on the roof. A wolf with red fur appeared. "Akane, we need to find Sasuke. Can you trace his scent?" I told her.

Akane nodded and sniffed. "This way." she said after a while. I followed her into the forest. After a while, we saw Kankuro laying on a branch. We went futther and eventually found Temari, who was running away from something. Just a few metres ahead, we found Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto. Sasuke was laying on a branch, Sakura was unconcious and bound to a tree by sand and Naruto was fighting Gaara.

Suddenly, Gaara transformed into a monster. It was the one tails, Shukaku. Naruto had summoned Gamabunta, who was grumpy because Naruto had summoned him. "NEE-CHAN! GO HELP SASUKE AND SAKURA-CHAN! I'LL HANDLE HIM!"

Akane went towards Sakura and tried to loosen the sand, but it didn't work. Meanwhile, I was using medical ninjutsu on Sasuke. "Don't think I agree on letting Naruto fight him alone, but there's nothing I can do to help him. Besides, he has Gamabunta now."

Akane sat beside me. "Do you need me for anything else?" she asked. I shook my head. Akane nodded and layed down.

Naruto and Gaara were both laying on the ground. Naruto was telling Gaara he was the same as him and knew his pain and loneliness. Kankuro and Temari came to pick Gaara up and bring him back to the village. I picked up the now unconcious Naruto. "You did great." I told him softly. "Now let's go back." I threw him over my shoulder and Sakura on the other. Sasuke was able to walk, so the four of us walked towards the village.

"I'm glad this is over..." Sasuke said.

I nodded. "I couldn't agree more, Sasuke." Back in Konoha, we brought Naruto and Sakura to the hospital. Kakashi saw us and walked along. He told us that the Hokage had died. "Naruto's going tobbe heartbroken as soon as he hears it..." I muttered. "He was the first one to care for him, while the villagers hated him."

Sasuke decided to go home and I was left alone with Kakashi. "How about me treating you to some ramen? It looks like you can use it."

I shook my head. "I would rather stay here." I said. "Knowing Naruto, he'll probably wake up soon."

Kakashi nodded. "I'll stay here too. Keep you company."

"Thank you Kakashi." I said with a smile. "You really have changed from the first time I talked to you. You used to be a cocky jerk before Obito died."

"I guess I was, yeah..." Kakashi muttered.

"You were. Now stop denying it." I told him. "I think you're a much more pleasant person now. Even though you always come late. Sasuke was almost disqualified because of your lateness."
