The Truth that was kept Secret (Naruto fanfic)

The next thing to do

Fuyu's pov

After I had used up a quite a lot of chakra on healing Itachi's injuries, I heard his heartbeat a bit better now. 'Just a little while longer...' I thought.

I kept going until I couldn't feel his pulse anymore. Tears fell down my cheeks as I realized I couldn't save him and that I was going to have to live the rest of my life without him.

I lost all sense of time and I didn't bother looking if someone was watching me or not.

Just when I was about to accept the fact he was dead and I would have to look after Naruto and Sasuke on my own, Itachi opened one eye and looked at me. "Fuyu...?" he asked.

I hugged him. "I'm glad you're okay now, Itachi."

"You... saved me?"

I released the hug and nodded. I whiped away some tears. "I thought you died, but I'm so happy you're alive!"

*timeskip no jutsu*

I had put up a barrier, making sure no one could find us. "What will we do? We can't stay here forever." I said softly. "Do you know what Madara wants?"

Itachi shook his head. "I don't know his plan, but I'm sure it's something bad."

"It probably has something to do with the Bijuu he's collecting." I muttered. "Do you think he's planning on becoming  the Juubi Jinchuuriki?"

"I don't know." Itachi said. "I--"

Suddenly, someone was thrown into the cave, it was none other than Naruto. He looked up at us and his eyes widened. "But--"

"Did someone tell you he died?" I asked.

"Fuyu-chan?" Naruto questioned.

"How did you find this place?" Itachi asked.

"Why should I tell you, dattebayo?!" Naruto replied.

"I had made a barrier, so no one would be able to find us." I told him. "I used the strongest barrier I could do."

"Naruto?" I heard a female voice. "Where are you?"

I glared at Itachi and he nodded before making a handsign. "Hey! What are you going to do?!" Naruto exclaimed.

"You don't need to know the details, but tell us everything you know about anyone threatening the Leaf. I've got the feeling you've encountered many of them already." I said.

"Why do you want--"

"We've already abandoned the Akatsuki, but don't tell anyone about that, not even your closest friends." I replied. "By the time your teammates find you, Itachi and I won't be here anymore."

"How do I know or I can trust you?!" Naruto exclaimed, pointing at Itachi. "And I'm taking you back to the Leaf!"

Itachi and I gave each other a glare. We both knew Naruto wasn't going to tell us anything about anyone he encountered if we didn't give him a good reason. We decided to tell him half of the truth, if he promised not to tell anyone.

"We'll tell you why, in exchange that you won't tell anyone." Itachi said.

Naruto nodded, obviously curious about what we had to say. "Like we said, we aren't loyal to the Akatsuki, we both want to protect the Leaf." I said, keeping it short.

"All this time?!" Naruto asked.

I nodded. "Will you keep it a secret?"

Naruto nodded. "I won't tell anyone!"

Naruto told us about Kabuto, who had also given them information about the Akatsuki members, who had absorbed Orochimaru's power, trying to become stronger than him.

Itachi released the genjutsu he had used to make sure the others who were with him couldn't find us before we were finished when we've reached the exit of the cave.

"They should be able to find you again." he said, before I threw one of my kunai at the other side of a river, teleporting me and Itachi there right away.

'So right now, our target is Kabuto... we should strike before he is able to become a real threat to the Leaf...' I thought.

I know short and not so good, but it will get better, I promise!

I don't think I can update next week, I'll have a lot of tests :(
