Fuyu's pov

I was walking for quite a while, finding that woman was really hard... 'Man, will this mission ever end?' I thought.

Suddenly, I heard two voices. One of them belonged to Naruto and the other to Ero-sennin. I hid in a tree, masking my chakra.

"I'm going to bring Sasuke back! Believe it!" Naruto exclaimed.

"Naruto, maybe you should give up on him. Remember we're focussing on your training." Jiraya said.

Suddenly, the woman who I had to kill was walking towards them. She obviously didn't notice them, or me at all. Not yet, at least. I noticed Naruto saw her too. "Hey! Who are you?" he asked the woman.

"I could ask you the same." the woman replied. She looked around and she noticed me. "There's no need to hide from me, akatsuki." she said while staring in my direction and pulling out her sword.

I jumped on the ground and glared at her. "I just didn't feel like fighting three people at the same time, ya know?" I stated. I pulled out my kunai and threw them all at the same time. They landed on different places. "But I guess I've got no choice."

I pulled out my sword and blocked her attack. "Ero-sennin, you're being quite passive, ya know? I was expecting you to help this woman out." I said before appearing near another kunai behind the woman and stabbing her quickly. If I had to do it, I would do it fast and with as less pain as possible. I saw Naruto charging at me too, but I appeared behind him and held him tight. "Naruto, what did Sasuke do?" I asked out of curiosity. "You aren't telling me he left the village to join Orochimaru, are you?"

"How did you know?" Naruto asked.

"Just a guess." I said. 'Dammit, I seal his curse mark, but yet he decides to join Orochimaru anyway...' I thought. "What happened to his curse mark?" I asked.

"That's none of your business!" Naruto replied. "Why did you leave the village and joined the Akatsuki?!"

"None of your business." I acted like I didn't care about him at all, which was really hard to maintain. "I'll let you go this time." I said before knocking him out. I glared at Jiraya, who was attacking me too.

"What happened to you?!" he demanded to know.

"Ero-sennin. You of all people should know that I'm stubborn. I don't like repeating myself either, ya know. I'll tell you the same as I told Naruto. My reasons are none of your business." I replied calmly.

"Then I'll force you to answer me!" Jiraya said before attacking me.

"I don't feel like fighting you." I said before starting to collect my kunai and the woman I just killed. "Sayonara, Ero-sennin." I said before appearing near a kunai I had left somewhere at the border of the forest. 'This should be enough distance...' I thought. 'He better be focussing on Naruto now, anyway...' I sighed and started walking towards the hideout.

When I arrived at the hideout, carrying the woman on my shoulder, Pein was already waiting for me. I let the woman fell on the ground. "Good job, Fuyu." Pein said before moving the dead body away.

It was almost time for dinner and I wasn't going to let anyone of the guys cook. They just couldn't, okay? I ended up making spicy rice balls for everyone - with a little help from Konan. "Thanks for helping me, Konan." I said.

Konan smiled and said it wasn't something to be thanked for. "Let's bring it to everyone else." she said.

We put the plates with rice balls on the table and everyone gathered around the table. "THEY'RE SO FUCKING SPICY!" Hidan exclaimed after one bite, obviously having burned his tomgue or something.

"Well, it's not like you'd actually die from it..." I muttered while taking a ite from my own rice ball. "And they're supposed to be spicy, ya know?"

"They're delicious!" Deidara said and everyone else besides Hidan agreed.

"I'm glad you like my cooking. Should I cook more often then, instead of always having microwave meals?" I asked.

They all nodded, some of them more enthousiastically than others. "I'll admit, your damn cooking tastes better than those fucking microwave meals." Hidan muttered.

It was almost my birthday. Just one more day until the 21th of January. I didn't really expect the rest to know about my birthday anyway - okay, maybe Itachi -, so I wasn't expecting anything for tomorrow.

The next morning, I noticed Konan was out of bed already when I woke up. When I came downstairs with my clothes on and hair down, I saw everyone else standing there, like they were waiting for someone. "Happy birthday, Fuyu." Konan said with a smile.

I gave them a closed eyes smile. "Thank you, Konan." I said. "How did you know it was my birthday today? Did Itachi tell you?" I glared at Itachi, who nodded.

"Now for the presents, who will go first?" Sasori asked.

"Presents..?" I questions. "You actually bought me something?"

"It's your eighteenth birthday. That should be celebrated." Kisame said.

In the evening

Everyone was already sleeping, but I couldn't. I stared at the necklace Itachi had given me and thought about how things were like before the Uchiha massacre. I couldn't help thinking about how things could've been if the Uchiha massacre never happened and both Itachi and I would just live peacefully in the village. "Can't sleep?" I heard Itachi say behind me. He sat down beside me.

I nodded. "Can't sleep either?" I asked.

Itachi nodded. "You've got nightmares too, don't you?" he asked.

I nodded. "He might have been planning to take over the Leaf with his men, but I still ripped a family apart."

Itachi's pov

I know it was selfish, telling her I love her, seeing that all I could ever bring her was sadness and pain. "Fuyu, I need to tell you something." I said.

She stared at me with her beatiful bright blue eyes. "You can tell me anything." she said with a light smile.

"Fuyu, I wanted to tell you this quite a while now." I started.

"Go on." Fuyu said.

"I... love you." I stated.

Fuyu's eyes widened. Her face turned just as red as her hair and she looked down. "You do?" she asked with a surprised tone in her voice. "It's not like I don't like you, it's just... I wasn't expecting this..." she muttered quickly when she saw my face.

"What's your answer?" I asked her.

"I... love you too, Itachi." she said with a light smile. I kissed her on the lips and she soon kissed back.
