Coach Williams: "Okay, guys, listen up. When we go back out there now, we've got to win this for next week. We're doing well, but we've made some bad plays and some good plays. We'll fix that now. Let's go get another touchdown. Do I make myself clear?" Coach Williams urged the team.

All the Guys: "Yes, sir," echoed through the locker room as all the guys acknowledged the coach's instructions.

Coach Williams: "Let's show them what Fate Society is all about. Family, on me! 1-2-3!" The team's spirit was fired up as they chanted together.

Nikki: As the whole locker room got hyped up and the players ran back onto the field, I stayed with Liam to make sure he was okay. "Liam," I said, "are you sure you want to come with me to the big stack house?"

Liam: "Yes," he replied, "girl, please. I'm going with you regardless."

Nikki: I laughed and agreed, "Hahaha, alright, you can come with me and the other girls. But we'll have to carpool again if Adam and the other boys want to come."

Then, I received a mysterious text from an unknown sender with the initials D.C. It read, "You will come to us, or else we will hurt every single person you love in your life. P.S., come alone."

Nikki (Texting back): I reluctantly replied, "I will come alone." I had no choice but to respond, although I was scared out of my mind. I told myself I wouldn't back down, no matter what.

After the game ended, I got into my truck and checked my phone again. D.C. had sent another message: "Meet me behind the beach in a cave when you get here. I want you to walk along a trail, and I will be inside. This cave has a secret password."

I decided to text my friends, lying, "I'm sick and don't feel well." They bombarded my phone with messages, but I continued on my way to the beach. After an hour or two, I arrived.

I got out of my truck and followed the trail. I couldn't help but think about how much I hated lying and how uncomfortable I felt doing this in the middle of the night. Finally, I reached the door and began entering the password on the keypad. After another hour, the door opened, and I walked in.

Inside, I saw a lot of creepy people in the cave, and the cave had cracks everywhere. Someone started approaching me, the person who was supposed to be D.C.

Nikki: "Hello," I said, my voice trembling.

Devin Calaway (D.C.): Nikki Martin.

How do you know my name?" I demanded.

Devin Calaway (D.C.): "Oh, dear child, I knew who you were when you got adopted," he replied, his tone disturbingly calm.

Nikki: "How do you know I was adopted?" I asked in disbelief.

Devin Calaway (D.C.): "My name is Devin Calaway," he revealed, "and, Miss Nikki, I know who your real parents are."

Nikki: "How do you know who they are? I don't even know them!" I continued to question him.

Nikki: "Wait a minute, Devin Calaway," I realized, "I know who you are now. I read about you in the newspaper. You're that man who goes around pretending to be a nice man, but in reality, you're a sick, twisted man who ruins people's lives. The paper also says you're a bad boy, a Mafia king, and the leader of the Death Hunters."

Devin Calaway (D.C.): "For a young adult, Miss Martin, I'm very impressed by all this knowledge you have. You've done your homework on me," he said, his laughter taking on an eerie, malevolent tone.
