It was just past midnight when I finally mustered the energy to leave my bed. Grabbing my keys, I rallied my mom and sisters to meet me by my truck within ten minutes. I slip my jacket over my shirt and inform the guys of our plans for a spa day before bidding my dad farewell with a hug and stepping out into the sweltering heat.

Everyone was already waiting in my Jeep as I hopped in, immediately backing out of the driveway. Our first stop was the gas station to refuel for the journey back to school later that night. With $50 worth of gas paid for, we continued to the spa.

(Other dad James via text message): "Hey baby girl, I was wondering if you could come to see me tonight before you leave. I didn't know you were in town until your parents told me over the phone."

After arriving at the spa, I quickly responded to my second dad, text message. apologizing for not reaching out sooner and promising to do better in the future. Once inside, we were greeted by a friendly attendant who guided us through the process of selecting nail polish colors.

As I settled into my seat, I couldn't help but relax as the warm water enveloped my feet. With my phone in hand, I checked my volleyball schedule, mentally preparing for the days ahead.

After our spa session, we indulged in some food I had pre-ordered, eliciting curiosity from my mom about our plans. With a mischievous smile, I assured her that it was a surprise, prompting her to drift off to sleep.

While my mom napped, I quickly retrieved the food and set the table, delighting my family with a feast of their favorite dishes. Their gratitude warmed my heart as we shared a meal filled with laughter and love.

After dinner, I gathered my belongings and bid my family farewell, promising to call them every day. With Caleb at the wheel, we made a detour to visit James before our departure.

Arriving at James' house, I shared a heartfelt moment with him, cherishing the time we had together. As I prepared to leave, I glanced at the time on my phone, realizing it was nearing 9:40 pm.

"Baby girl, I'm glad we got a little time to catch up. Your friends didn't want to come in?" James asked.

"No, they said they'd wait in the truck. Thanks for everything, Daddy," I replied.

After bidding James farewell, I rejoined Caleb and my friends in the truck, bracing myself against the chill of the night air. As we hit the freeway, I turned up the music, Drake's "Started From the Bottom" providing the soundtrack to our journey back to school.
