Survivors
- After the end of season 4A -

Emma had fallen asleep on the couch in the Sheriff station, after some late night work. She was also giving in the research for the fairies and how to get them out of the magical hat they were trapped in. Hot cocoa hadn't been enough and she had accidently fell in this world of dreams while working.

Hook enterded the Sheriff station and smile when he saw his love peacefully sleeping. He approched silently, being careful not to wake her up and sat next to her. The only thing we could hear was the breathing of those two and the strong wind from outside that hit the trees creating a little soft noise. Hook put his hand on Emma's and she moved a little, but did not open her beautiful pale eyes.

The pirate was glad to see her so calm and peaceful. He felt like ever since he brought her back to Storybrooke after Peter Pan casted another curse on all the citizens and that Zelena spiced up the other cursed that brought them back, that they came back from their trip in the past, that they dealt with the Snow Queen and her different curse, well... they didn't have much time to rest, especially Emma. Being the savior is not a simple job. Her life in New York with her fake memories was probably smoother. However, Storybrooke was Emma's home and even with all that action that never seemed to stop, she loved it. But that sleep she was in, with no trouble, no sound, it just looked good to Killian. He was happy to see her rest a little. He was also happy to be next to her. His love for her was so strong and even if they were taking all this slowly, he would never end it for anything. He would die for her.

Sadly, that sleep that seemed so calm on the outside, wasn't really on the inside. Sometimes dreams can be nightmares and that's what what happening to Emma. In her dream, she was walking in a room compleatly dark, with just a door infront of her, where the only light would come from. She walked towards that door and hesitated before putting her hand on the knob. She opened the door and found herself in a room a with a little more light, where she saw Killian, held as a prisonner, tied with ropes to a chair. Someone next to him held a heart in his or her hands. The heart was glowing in it's red color, but had a darker center. Emma could not see the face of the one that held the heart because it was too dark. She would only pannic seeing all this scene, thinking that the heart was probably Hook's. The pirate tried to say a word but nothing came out of his mouth. Emma wanted to go to him, take him out of there, but her feet could not leave the ground. All she could do was stand there and look at the stranger crushing what seemed to be the love of her life's heart. She would see Killian's face writhing. Emma tried to scream, but nothing could come out of her mouth either. She had just watched someone she loves die in front of her, again.

Her eyes opened widely and she saw that she was in the Sheriff Station. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. Emma was trembling after what her conscience had made her endure.

" Swan, are you alright ? " asked Hook, alarmed. Emma sighted when she saw he was there. She sat and grabbed his hand thigtly.

" I am now " she answered, relieved. She let her head fall to Killian's chest. It felt good to be next to him, feeling his warmth on her cold skin and hearing his heart beating. Hook put his arm around Emma's shoulder, making the blonde even more comfortable.

" You seemed... pannicking. What was happenning ? " asked Hook.

" Just a nightmare " she answered, thinking it looked childish.

" What was happenning in that nightmare ? " insisted the pirate.

" I hum- there was... " she started but felt like she couldn't say it. She would prefer forget about it but she knew it is easier said than done.

" What was it, love ? " he asked, with his irish accent that makes everyone melt, especially Emma. She also loved how he would call her " love " most of the times, how he pronounced it. Hook had that capacity of making her feel special.

" We couldn't do anything, not move or talk and I just stood there, looking at someone crushing you heart. Killing someone I love in front of me again, losing someone " finally said Emma. She bit her lip, thinking about what happened with Graham and Neal and the pain she would have if she lost Killian. He was the first she would really hold on to, where she was really trying to forget what happened with the others before. She would convince herself that this would work and she just needed to let it go, see how it would come. She wad trying to stop living in the past. She was trying to love him fully, with no fear. At some point, she realised that neither him or her are immortal and she would lose him one day, except is he loses her before. Death is inevitable. We should not fear it constantly.

Killian brought his other hand to Emma's cheek and caressed her face softly. We could hear Emma's strong and fast breathing very clearly.

" It was not real. Don't worry about me, love. I've already told you this. The one thing I'm good at is surviving. Actually, the one thing we are good at is surviving. We are survivors, we always have and always will be. We'll just be survivors together, now " said Hook, meaning every single word he just pronounced.

" I-I love you " whispered Emma, taking a deep breath just before saying it. She looked into her love's eyes to make him understand that she really meant it too.

" I love you too, Swan " he answered.

He slowly approched his face from her and reduced the space between their lips to nothing. Their kiss was passionate and true. This was true love, the only thing more powerful than magic. We heard Rumplestiltskin say that a lot. True love can do anything.

When their kiss ended, Hook stretched to take Emma's red leather jacket and putted it on the blonde's shoulders.

" How about we move somewhere else for tonight ? " proposed Hook.

Emma agreed and they left, hand in hand, without forgetting to lock the Sherriff station. They walked in the quiet streets of Storybrooke, illuminated by the moonlight. They walked to the docks and sat on its edge. Emma and Hook sat there in silence, close to each other. The moment was simple but it couldn't be better. They were together, surviving.
