22 ; Answers

" Told you Swan, we're survivors, " whispered Hook. Emma wrapped her arms around his waist and let her head fall onto his chest.

" Um... mom. You know you're not alone ? " said Henry and Emma laughed.

" Sorry, " she said and pulled away from Killian. " Do you know how we ended up here ? And why Gold wasn't able to crush my heart ? " she then asked.

" Henry saved you, " declared August.

" You did ? How ? " asked Emma as she walked towards her son.

" With a book, a quill and ink, " Henry replied, pointing the book on the table.

" Wait what ? " said Emma.

" And who are you ? " added Killian, looking at the ex-author.

" I used to be the author, " the man replied. " I'm Isaac, "

" Used to be ? What is going on ? " said Emma.

" I'm the author now, " declared Henry and Emma's eyes widen. She took her son in her arms.

" I'm a hero now, " Henry whispered to her mother.

" You always have, kid, " she answered with a huge smile on her face. " I'm so proud of you, "

" If you used to be the author, you might know why Rumplestiltskin was looking for you ? " said August.

" Not really. I've been trapped in that page for a long time, " answered Isaac.

" What about their happy endings ? I knew about Ursula's and gave her back her singing voice, but what about the crocodile, Maleficient and Cruella ? " added Hook.

" Well, maybe some things have changed since I wrote the stories, but the Dark One's heart is getting darker and darker. At some point, he might loose the ability to love and only an author can reverse that process. Maleficent, she might be looking for her child- "

" She has a child ? " asked Emma.

" Indeed, she has. It is a complicated story, you might want to ask you parents, " he added, looking at Emma.

" My parents ? Why ? They knew Maleficent ? "

" I told you, it's a complicated story, " he simply answered.

" And what happened to her child ? " questionned Hook.

" She was banished to this world, " Isaac explained.

" Okay, and Cruella ? " asked Henry.

" That I... I don't know, " lied the previous author. He prefered not to think about his past with Cruella. He was the one that took her happy ending, that made her the woman she is.

" Okay. Now the crocodile will probably be gone for a while after what happened, so that means we have a littl time. We're finally back in Storybrooke so I suggest we take some time and we think about those vilains a little later ? " suggested Killian.

" We should just warn the others that you're okay, " added Henry.

" I'll call my parents, " said Emma.

" Can we go to Granny's after ? " proposed Henry.

" Sure, kid " smiled Emma. " I'm sure everyone would be happy to meet the new author, " she added.

" I still can't believe it, " the boy sighted and closed the book.

After that, they all walked outside the socerer's mansion, with Isaac of course. Not being the author anymore, he had no power and since he'd just found himself in a new and strange land, his best bet was to follow those people, not to run away from them. He knew Emma's role, she was the savior so she was not to be feared. The captain, well it seemed like he had changed and the two others, well that Henry looked like Emma's son. That's why he stayed with them and followed to what they called " Granny's ".

Emma talked to August, but was still holding Killian's hand. She had missed his friend. Killian was let's say... a little jealous, but he did not say a word about it. Henry tried to explain this realm to Isaac.

In a matter of minutes they arrived to Granny's. As they entered, they immediatly went to the booth where David, Mary Margaret and Regina were sitting and waiting for them.

Emma went to hug her parents and thanked Regina. They sat and told them about everything that happened, about Henry's new role. The kid showed his new book, the one he was going to write in.

They spent most of the night at Granny's just talking, having fun, forgetting about whatever vilain could harm them. Emma still thought about what the author told her about Maleficent's child and her parents, but she decided to wait to ask. She was going to enjoy that night with the people she loved because for once they did not have to deal with another crisis.

Mary Margaret and David had just left with August, Granny got a room for Isaac in the inn, Henry left with Regina. Just a few people were left i the restaurant, including Emma and Hook, sitting alone in a booth.

" It feels si good to be back, " declared Emma.

" It does, " smiled Hook. Emma's head was resting on his shoulder and she grabbed his hook. " And now you're safe. That nightmare stuff is over and I didn't loose you. That's important, "

Emma turned to face him and grabbed his collar and pressed her lips on his. They moved in sync and a few seconds later they pulled back a little, ther foreheads still touching.

" You were right, we are survivors and surviving with you is the best thing that ever happened to me, " whispered Emma, making Killian the happiest man on earth.
