Survivors (Captain Swan)

33 ; Horizon

"What am I looking at ?" asked Emma as she was sitting with Killian on the side of the docks, seeing the blue sky and sea.

"The horizon," the pirate answered.

"Is it doing something ?"

"I just thought you'd find it calming," he added.

"It is, and so is rum," she said and Killian took out his bottle and handed it to her. She started to drink some as he continued to speak.

"Emma, I can tell your heart isn't easy and it's my job, well I hope it's my job to protect your heart, even when no one is trying to steal it physically," he said and she turned to face him.

"You don't have to worry, everything with Gold is well... done. I won't go after hin because I know he wants me dead, so I-"

"I'm not worried about him, I was talking about your parents," he declared making Emma sight.

"We talked about this," she mumbled.

"I talked, you walked away," he added. "I just wanted to know, if anything could be enough, are you willing to loose them just despite them ? They've done all the good, turned themsleves into heroes-"

She turned to talk but he cut her and kept talking.

"Yes, I know that you don't like what they did but you have to think maybe they were ashamed and they wanted you to like them," he finished.

"I'd like them more if I'd known they turned themselves around. I like when people find their good hearts along the way," she declared.

"They were trying to protect you, Swan, twice. Before you were born they wanted to make you happy. When they found you again they wanted to make you proud. Do you want both of those to be failures ?"

Emma turned her head to the horizon and thought that Hook might be right and that, she couldn't be angry at her parents forever. Yes, they probably did a mistake but they did for her, to have a better future, a better life. It was part of them, giving her, her best chance.

"N-No, I don't. It's just... I don't know anymore. Maybe you're right, maybe they all did this for me and I should forgive them," she responded.

"It's okay, love. I can't make the decision for you, but I'm just pointing out that your parents are doing everything to win you back and that they are as hurt as you are right now, probably more. I know and I've seen how much you love them, don't let that be in vain,"

She leaned so her head fell on his shoulder. He passed his arm around her shoulders, holding her arm with his hook.

"Why did you have to be so right ?" she asked and he laughed a little.

"Because I know and I want what's best for you, Emma," he declared and she smiled. "And because I don't have a family anymore and would do anything to have it back. You still have everyone, you should enjoy your time with them," he added.

"No, you still have a family," she replied, turning her look to him, looking deep into his eyes.

"I do ?" he asked.

"Me," she finished. Emma felt his arms hold her tighter.

"I love you, Swan," he said.

"I love you too, pirate," she smiled.

(Just pointing out that they already said 'I love you' to each other in this fanfic, first chapter :p)

Her phone started to ring and she saw the picture of her dad on the screen. She picked it up and Killian watch her happy face turn into a scared one. When she finished her call, she got up on her feet quickly.

"What's going on ?" asked Hook.

"My mom, she's hurt, I... let's go !" she mumbled, grapping his hand and starting to run to her car.
