"I'm sorry, what?"

Minyeon sighed, rubbing her temples smoothly as she tilted her head down slightly. Renjun's voice echoed through the speakerphone every time he said something, filling the otherwise silent room Minyeon was seated in.

"I already told you, I-"

He cut her off, the sound of his quick apologizing to someone else in the room just barely audible through the speaker before he began talking normally again. "I heard what you said. I just can't believe I'm hearing it correctly."

"Yeah well, I hadn't really expected to get into an accident and end up sitting in a police station waiting for you to pick me up but here we are."

"Alright well, I'm on my way now."

Minyeon let her arms fall to the table, her two limbs already feeling sore although she had only been holding them up to her head for just over a minute.

The sound of the door opening echoed throughout Renjun's house and through his phone. After pulling it open, he gasped a bit. Minyeon imagined he slightly jumped like when he usually got startled.

"How'd you get here so fast?"

Minyeon could only hear Renjun's voice as he started a new conversation with whoever was at the front door. The other person seemed to be talking too softly at a distance that the phone couldn't pick up.

"I was about to go get Minyeon. Said she got in an accident and-"
"Yeah, she's alright."
"No, I was about to go get h-"
"I mean if you want but do you even remember where the pol-"
"Alright knock yourself out, I guess."

Minyeon could hear the door close once again but the sound of Renjun's shoes tapping against the hardwood floor confused her.

"Are you not coming to pick me up," she asked him, lifting her head to stare outside. The day was ending early.

The blue sky has already been replaced by a radiating orange- a clear sign that night was soon approaching.

Time had been passing too quickly for her liking. It had felt like they only got out of school for break less than a week ago but as each day passed, it was getting closer to the new school year.

She wasn't ready to go back to college.

"Oh, well, yeah. I was going to," Renjun answered, his voice shifting as he took a seat on the couch. Minyeon could hear the TV in the background, a song from a Disney movie playing as 'Tweetie' sang along.

"And you're just not going to anymore or...?"

Renjun hummed in agreement. "You would be correct. I'm not the one that's picking you up."

"Then who is?"

"Donghyuck."

Minyeon's back straightened as she heard the familiar name. Her head fell back as she let out a low groan. "Seriously, Renjun? It's nearly half an hour from the police station to your house. Meaning I won't only be sitting here for thirty minutes but I'll have to sit in a car with him, alone, for thirty minutes."
