Minyeon flinched hearing a car door outside shut harshly. With only one glance out the window, she could see the familiar brown-haired boy fast approaching the police station's entrance.

She took in a deep breath before getting up from the table, dragging her feet across the floor as she walked towards the office door and pulled it open.

The officer pointed at the door just as she walked out of the room. She watched as Donghyuck thanked the man and took a few steps towards her, stopping a few feet away.

It didn't take long to reach him. She thanked the officers before leaving, grateful for how they had let her wait in the station although she would much rather had gone home after such a stressful day.

Her eyes darted over the pavement as they walked outside, Donghyuck trailing closely behind her with his footsteps echoing every time they touched the ground.

Her palms began to get sweaty and her heart was starting to speed up. Her bottom lip was between her two rows of teeth, getting bitten softly.

Am I nervous or about to have an anxiety attack? She asked herself. For the sake of getting home as quickly as possible with the least amount of talking, she decided to stay quiet and push the gut feeling away as nerves.

Another police car pulled up beside the two. They watched as both officers got out and turned the doors behind their seats. They pulled the doors open and helped out two suspects.

Minyeon raised an eyebrow looking at the two men in camo with paint smeared around their faces. They really were something else.

"It's a golf course, come on man! What are you guys even guarding out there? THE GOLF BALLS?"

Minyeon snickered quietly, watching the scene take place as Donghyuck started up the car and began backing out of his parking space slowly.

The AC finally clicked on after a second. A few moments later the radio sparked and music began to play through the speakers of the car.

It took a few seconds before Donghyuck reached over towards the radio and changed the station. Minyeon looked over at him, confused as to why he turned off the song before it could finish.

"You actually want to listen to it?" Donghyuck asked. He would've taken the chance to look at her but they had just left the police station and he didn't want to get in an accident and be sent back already.

Her eyebrows furrowed. Why didn't he like the song? "Well, I was listening to it but if you want to switch it, it doesn't matter."

Donghyuck didn't say anything. His fingers reached back out towards the radio and turned it back to the last station.

Minyeon turned her head back out the window, missing the small smile on the boy's face that was sitting just left of her.

She continued asking herself what would make him want to change the song. The singer had a nice voice and carried out the melody beautifully and the lyrics were pretty good as well.

Her body slightly tensed up hearing Donghyuck humming on the other side of the car. His voice matched perfectly with the singers and it was then that Minyeon put two and two together.

It was Donghyuck's song they were listening to. He must have assumed that she didn't want to listen which is why he changed it.

She could now recall how she knew the song so well. The boys loved listening to Donghyuck's songs whenever he released new ones and it was usually the only thing they would actually play for a while.

She never complained though. Donghyuck definitely had a unique and beautiful voice that even got praised throughout their childhoods.

It wasn't a surprise when she learned his parents were contacted by an agency wanting to scout him after they had seen a few of his youtube covers and school performances.

The day was finally coming to an end as they got closer to the Na family's house. Minyeon had tried her best to stay awake long enough to get herself out of the car but she wasn't strong enough.

As the sunset finally fell and the sky was encased in darkness Donghyuck pulled into the driveway and parked his car.

He looked over silently, his soft lips pulling into a smile as he looked at Minyeon sleeping comfortably against the seatbelt keeping her head from hitting the side of the car.

He sent a quick message to Jaemin saying to open the door before getting out and walking to Minyeon's side of the car.

He carefully opened the door, bending down slightly as he softly tapped her shoulder. "Min, we're here. Come on, you need to get to your bed."

Minyeon's eyes squinted open, not having yet adjusted to the bright car lights. She rubbed her eyelids slightly before reaching over and unlocking her seatbelt.

Her legs stepped out of the car but she was still wobbly as she tried getting her full body out. Donghyuck stood closely, catching her stumbling body before she could hit the concrete.

Minyeon didn't fight the close contact, too tired to really care or think about the interaction. Donghyuck held her up from the side as they walked to the front door where a tired-looking Jaemin waited while leaning against the doorway.

He was ready to ask questions as the two approached but kept quiet seeing Minyeon's tired face. He'd just have to wait for Donghyuck to help her to bed before he could start asking questions.

He closed the front door softly, watching the two bodies disappear down the hall as Donghyuck walked Minyeon to her room.

Donghyuck made sure to step over any of the creaky boards he remembered from their childhood, trying his best to keep quiet.

They finally reached the girl's bedroom and walked inside. It still looked like the one she had from childhood- the same cream-colored walls, the same bedside table, and dresser, the same curtains hanging over her window, almost everything remained like the way it was before he had left.

He was still quiet as he helped her over to her bed. She groggily sat up, sliding her shoes off. She didn't even attempt to change into more comfortable pajamas, deciding to just slide into bed as she was.

"Goodnight," Donghyuck said quietly, ready to finally leave and face Jaemin's questions.

He stopped when he felt Minyeon's hand grip his fingertips. Turning around, he listened to her words and felt his stomach drop.

"Donghyuck, why did you leave without telling us?"
