"Has anyone seen Donghyuck today?"

Jisung shook his head, leaning back against Jeno's couch and relaxing his long legs on the floor below the coffee table. "I haven't heard from Mark or Chenle today either."

Renjun hummed, dropping onto the couch beside Jisung with a bowl of popcorn in his lap. "When was the last time they were active in the group chat?"

"All three of them were active late last night," Minyeon answered, looking over their messages.

Her shoulders slumped and she leaned her head to the left on Jisung's knee. The younger boy looked down, curious as to why she seemed so tired when it was usually him leaning against her for support before he dozed off.

"I'll call him," Jaemin offered, standing up from the second couch.

Jeno walked out of the kitchen, taking a seat beside where Jaemin had just gotten up from. "Where's he going? I was about to play the movie."

"He's going to call Donghyuck. The three of them haven't answered any of our messages today," Renjun filled him in.

Jeno nodded, laying his feet across the couch and they waited for Jaemin to return with any updates.

The phone rang three times and Jaemin thought it would go to voicemail for the second time but was happily surprised when Donghyuck's voice sounded on the other side.

"Hey, I can't-"

Jaemin was already talking, not registering that Donghyuck was trying to say something to him. "Donghyuck, where have you been? We've been trying to text you, Mark, and Chenle but none of you have been respond-"

"Jaemin."

The young adult was caught off guard hearing the tone in his friend's voice.

"I can't talk right now. We're busy."

Jaemin's eyebrows furrowed. "Busy with what? Donghyuck, where are you three?"

He heard a sigh over the phone and felt his heart drop slightly. "We're back in Seoul at the company. Look, I can't-"

Jaemin scoffed, "again? I really thought we had a few weeks left. And again, you left without telling us? I understood when we were teenagers and you were excited but we're adults now. I expected more."

"Jaemin-"

"No," the blonde cut him off. "Minyeon was right. I shouldn't have expected anything better."

And with that the phone call ended, Jaemin not hesitating to press the red button before listening to Donghyuck say anything else.

How could he leave again? And without saying anything to the people he claimed were his best friends since we were kids? Our friendship is a joke.
