"I just don't get it. How do they not like her?"

Renjun shrugged, his eyes never leaving the TV as he stared at the cartoon playing on the screen. "In the beginning, she was a bit... questionable. But she's definitely grown a lot throughout the series."

Minyeon nodded, "I guess you're right. But now I absolutely love and adore her."

The young adult's eyes drifted outside the window, allowing her to take notice of how dark it was.

The subtle glow of the street lights posted up on the sides of the roads allowed for her eyes to watch as a cat jumped up and down on her neighbor's porch across the street, trying its best to catch a moth that seemed to be teasing it.

The sight made her smile softly, watching as the old boards holding the porch together creaked with every jump.

Its golden coat reminded her of an old cat they used to own. She remembered how the boys would always come over, playing with it happily. It always made her feel special when the cat would grow tired of the boys and waltz over to her, sneaking into her lap to get some affection.

"Sometimes I think about what it would be like for these scenes to happen in real life," Renjun suddenly said aloud.

Minyeon turned her head towards his voice when she felt the blanket on her legs begin to get pulled away.

The boy apologized as he stood up momentarily, fixings his pants and shirt to fit comfortably before he laid on the couch, not thinking twice before he lifted his feet to lay on the armrest and set his head in Minyeon's lap.

"Jaemin! You were supposed to catch him!"

Jaemin grimaced, helping Jisung up. The younger boy scratched his head uncomfortably, his eyes swaying as he looked at the colorful mats on the ground. "Sorry, Sung."

Jeno walked over to the two, dusting off his friend. "Alright, well, Jaemin, I guess it's your turn to try."

Jaemin nodded, walking over towards the man waiting with the harnesses. He shook the nerves off through his hands, still a bit worried as he heard the ropes clamp onto the belt the staff put on him just a few minutes earlier.

His feet were shaky as he grabbed onto the nearest rope. His eyes wandered to the small board swinging at the bottom of the rope.

"I don't know, guys. This seems... just a little sketchy," his voice shook.

Jeno and Jisung smiled from a distance, watching him nervously grab each rope to get past the scary obstacle.

Jaemin walked slowly, his gut swirling as he watched the ground shake from below him while he walked across a rickety bridge.

His hands started to sweat as he scooted onto a ledge, his fingers gripping onto one of the plastic red rocks that extended out of the wall just above his head.

His breath got caught in his throat as he closed his eyes. He let out a deep breath again before opening his eyes. He was starting to feel a bit lightheaded but still continued, his feet scraping against the board as he kept moving to the left.

But as he reached towards one of the last rocks he needed to grab before he could complete the level, he could feel it slip right out of his hand.

In that second, he could have sworn that his life flashed before his eyes. He could not, for the life of him, understand how he let Jeno and Jisung convince him to come here with them.

He knew it was inevitable that he would fall so he accepted his defeat and waited to feel Jeno or Jisung grab him just before he could hit the ground mat.

But to his horror, he never felt either of them.

"Hello?" he groaned, his face still flat against the mat. His legs were spread apart just slightly and his arms were stretched on both sides of his body. If he hadn't of had such a hard impact, he could say that it was a comfortable position.

A few seconds passed and neither of his friends had said anything so he looked up, ready to see their amused faces and hear Jisung say "that's what you get for letting me fall too."

But he was unpleasantly surprised when he looked up and didn't come face to face with two familiar faces, instead, there were four.

"Renjun, come on, please!"

The brown-haired boy shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "Not yet!"

Minyeon groaned, throwing her head back against the couch. "Renjun, seriously. My legs are asleep will you please just get up for one minute so I can go get a cup of water?"

Renjun silently got up, his head staying turned towards the TV while Minyeon went to get something to drink.

She came back quickly, taking a seat back where she was before. She took a sip of water and placed her cup on the coffee table, making herself comfortable once again.

"Okay. You can lay back down now."

A minute passed while Renjun still sat up straight. Minyeon repeated herself, thinking he just hadn't heard her.

She was wrong. As she repeated herself for the third time, she knew that he was now ignoring her.

"Seriously?" She laughed, leaning onto his shoulder. Renjun made no plans to move, just listening as he continued to be stubborn.

"You're something else," Minyeon shook her head. She lifted her head slightly, looking at the side of his face in an attempt to make him break the act.

"It's not gonna work," he suddenly said, still staring at the TV. Minyeon didn't say anything, still staring at the side of his face and waiting for him to break.

The sound of the front door pulling open startled them both. But Renjun turning to the side while Minyeon still had her face way too close to him caused their faces to skin against one another. Their lips barely touched but it was enough for both to pull back.

But they were still focused on seeing who had walked through the door. At first, they had only expected it to be Jaemin but both stood up immediately once seeing who it actually was.

Donghyuck awkwardly stood in the doorway, his eyes slightly wide. "Did I... interrupt something?"
