"Hey," Renjun smiled.

Jaemin returned the gesture as he climbed into the passenger seat, not bothering to put a seatbelt on since he was only gonna be out there to share a quick talk.

"So what did you wanna tell me earlier?" Renjun asked, turning down the music and turning in his seat to face Jaemin.

The younger of the two turned his body as well, ready to engage in the talk.

"I'm sure you could've probably figured out what I really wanted to talk about before you even got here, didn't you?"

Renjun had a soft smile on his lips and nodded slowly, "I have my own assumptions about what you want to say."

Jaemin nodded, "you're probably not too far off. I wanted to talk to you about Minyeon and stuff."

Renjun tried hiding the deep gulp he took, becoming usually nervous for a minute as he waited for Jaemin to continue.

"So, I mean, it isn't that hard to tell that you like her now that I'm really seeing it from afar," Jaemin laughed, now recalling all of the prior moments between the two where he had assumed they were just really good friends.

"I don't want to just sit here and be like Renjun, you aren't allowed to date my sister and I don't want to be friends with you anymore. because I honestly don't have a problem with it. I think you two match really well. I just wanted to ask you about some... other stuff."

Renjun let out a silent relieved sigh, still watching Jaemin with fixed eyes. "Yeah, sure, anything."

Jaemin seemed a bit uncomfortable with the new topic at hand, slightly shifting in his seat as he tried to figure out where to begin.

"You do know Donghyuck... still has feelings for her... right?"

Renjun's lips pulled in as he created a line with them. He slowly nodded, not too much of a fan of the topic either. "Yeah, I do."

"I just... I just wanted to ask you something. You know Minyeon got into that wreck a little while ago, right? And she had asked you to come to pick her up. But she told me that you sent Donghyuck to get her instead. So... I guess what I'm wondering is... do you actually like her?"

Renjun was silent for a second, his eyes shifting down to his empty cup holder as he formed a response.

He finally took in a deep breath and nodded. "I do like Minyeon. I guess that, at the time, I didn't really want to recognize my feelings? And Minyeon seemed, just, really stuck. We talked and stuff and she said that she wanted to be friends with him again so I was hoping that the car ride could've helped but..."

Jaemin nodded off, finishing the sentence for Renjun, "but she's still distant whenever he's around. Honestly... I don't think that's ever going to change. When Donghyuck left, it was like a part of her left with him. And when he came back, that interest in him just didn't come back with him. It's not even like she's just awkward around him either. It's like there's some kind of mental block where she doesn't even really want to come to terms and be friends with him again."

"Trust me, I know," Renjun sighed, leaning against his head rest. "I'm still having a hard time trying to figure out why. She's fine with Mark and Chenle but something about Hyuck just... doesn't connect with her anymore."

Jaemin gritted his teeth, trying to think. "That's what I've been thinking. It's just a guess, honestly, but I was thinking and... she knows he still has a crush on her. And maybe that's why she's not comfortable with just being friends with him."

"Because he still likes her?" Renjun questioned, trying to really understand.

"Yeah. That's just what I've been thinking though. You know she's always been off-put around guys that like her. Remember that one dude from senior year?"

"The one that she ran away from and..."

"And managed to crash into Jisung by accident," Jaemin laughed. It didn't take long for Renjun to join him, suddenly remembering how Jisung described her absolute distress over the situation.

Their laughter soon calmed down. The street lights were brighter than before and the night encasing them was definitely taking a toll on their energy.

"But yeah. I guess we could talk more later. I'm super tired. Goodnight, Jun."

Renjun leaned over, hugging the younger boy goodbye before driving off- he was surely ready to get home and see Minnie again.

hey everyone!!!
another update so soon??
crazy isn't it

since i don't have school until january 3rd, i finally have some more time to write. hopefully i'll be able to finish the book before i have to go back to school. i'm already working on the next chapter but i'm not sure when i'll finish it lol

i'm so excited for christmas. i'm just a bit upset we don't have any snow yet.

i'm not sure how many of you have heard but i live in the usa and the city i live in is really close to mayfield. like my doctor is literally in mayfield cause that's where i was born.

but just a few days ago there was a major tornado that practically leveled that entire city and just barely missed where i live.

and if you're not completely sure how tornados form over here, basically they can be formed when there's a cold front that meets a really warm front. and where i live is currently going through that, which is why mayfield got hit.

there's another warm front coming and i'm scared we might be in the path for another tornado. i haven't heard much abt any new or nearby ones but if a warm front is coming, it isn't likely we'll be getting snow any time soon.

but if we do, i will be super happy!

i hope all are doing well and staying safe!!! love you guys <333
