"Renjun?"
The brown-haired boy looked up slowly at the familiar voice, trying his best not to show how awkward he was feeling at the moment.
"Hey guys," he greeted the three. He hadn't expected to see even one of them at the pet store, let alone all three of them.
Minnie meowed from beside his leg, protectively rubbing up beside him as she glared at the boys that had just approached her and her owner a bit too quick for her liking.
"What- what are you guys doing here?" Renjun asked politely, picking up the cat after noticing her sudden attitude change.
"I thought I would pick up some new toys or something for my dog back at home," Chenle answered with a smile.
"So what are... you doing here?" Donghyuck asked after clearing his throat. His eyes trailed down to the cat in Renjun's grip that still seemed a bit tense.
Renjun looked down at her and stepped closer to the three boys to allow them to get familiar with his new family member. "Just got here and thought it would be best to get her some new things as a welcome home present."
"You've already got her but don't have a bed for her?" Mark laughed jokingly as he approached the cat while petting her head softly.
"Oh, n-no," Renjun tried to chuckle. "The pet shelter I got her from gave me a bed that she was supposed to sleep in last night even though she just ended up sleeping on my stomach. It's just a bit smaller than I would like so I thought it'd be best to come get her a bigger one and-"
Renjun was cut off when Minyeon rounded the corner with a leash, collar, and harness in her hands, seemingly excited to see if Minnie would like it just as much as she did.
"Isn't this one nice-" she paused after looking up and noticing that Renjun wasn't the only one in the aisle anymore.
She locked eyes with Donghyuck at first but it didn't take more than three seconds before she looked at Mark and Chenle.
"Oh... hey guys," she tried to smile.
"Hey," the three greeted her enthusiastically. Well, at least Mark and Chenle did. Donghyuck was still a bit quiet.
"Sorry, we didn't mean to barge into your guys' trip like this. We'll see you sometime later, right?"
Renjun and Minyeon nodded and exchanged eye contact before looking back at the three, "of course, yeah, yeah."
The three waved as they walked away, presumably to go look for some dog toys. Renjun finally felt comfortable setting Minnie back down after she had presumably calmed down.
"Um... anyways. I found this collar and thought it was nice but then I saw this harness. I've seen videos where some cats- like- going on walks like dogs. Do you think she would like going on walks?" Minyeon asked Renjun, staring at him as she waited for a response.
For a second it was like time was frozen and Renjun couldn't even move. His lips were parted and his eyes seemed dilated.
Minyeon waved her hand in front of his eyes as she tried to get his attention. "Renjun, you still there?" she joked with a smile.
The taller boy finally blinked away the dryness in his eyes and smiled. "Sorry, I got distracted. What did you say?"
Minyeon laughed off his excuse and bent down to get a better angle of Minnie. "I asked if you thought that she would like going on walks."
Renjun hummed, intrigued by the question and trying to genuinely think of an answer to supply the girl with. "I'm not sure," he finally admitted, "try putting it on her and see how she'll react."
Minyeon did so, breaking off the harness carefully to where the bar code would still scan on the original packaging when they bought it later.
"No turning back now, I guess," Renjun laughed.
Minyeon smiled up at him before returning her attention back to Minnie. Her hands moved gently as she tried putting the harness on in the most comfortable position for the cat.
When she was finally finished putting it on the cat, she stood back up. Minnie squeaked softly, still trying to get a good feel on the new harness.
She walked around Minyeon and Renjun slowly before taking a seat in front of Renjun's feet and letting out what he assumed was a satisfied meow.
"Looks good. You got the leash?" Minyeon nodded, grabbing the leash to clip it onto the harness.
Minnie didn't care enough to stand still, instead deciding to continue searching for her favorite bed while Minyeon struggled to clip the leash on.
The couple continued walking around the large store while holding Minnie closely. It didn't take long for the cat to make some new friends, either.
It was a cute scene for Minyeon and Renjun to see but they were more than happy to finally be able to leave after buying all of Minnie's needs.
It was getting darker by the minute and the night was growing a bit cold. Renjun's stomach growled lowly, making him grab it. "You wanna get something to eat before I drop you off?"
Minyeon looked over at him with a smile, "sure!"

y'all oh my GOD updating on time? y'all i'm finally getting better at this 😩
ANYWAYS i just watched some more episodes of miraculous and i swear every time i watch a single episode of that show it just makes me want to write a book like the show 😭
the problem is that i have like no idea when i'll have some more time to actually put together a whole new plot line and everything and i don't even know which dreamie i would make as cat noir.
but anyways y'all i've got some school updates. today in my law enforcement class we were doing hand cuff proceder activities and basically that meant that we were each in pairs and then two pairs at a time had to go up to the front of the classroom and then one person from each pair would get taken into the hallways and we would have to hide a fake weapon. when we came back into the room our partners would put practice handcuffs on us and then search us for the weapons.
ANYWAYS my partner and i went up today and there was another group with two guys that also went up with us. and one of the guys is like super cute and i used to have a crush on him at the beginning of the year and now i'm like 99% sure i have a crush on him again 😭
he's rlly hot tho yall like i'm serious. and we made eye contact like three times and i swear i do not know what it is abt eye contact but every time i lock eyes with a guy it's like i've suddenly fallen on the floor and can't get up
anyways he was pretty sweet and respectful too but i'm not sure if that's just who he is or if he was acting like that bc our teacher was there lmao
but now i'm gonna manifest that he falls in love with me <3
