Raghav's POV
"Uuwaa Uuwaa!"
Sasha rolled her eyes and said, "What are you doing?"
I raised my head to look at her and smiled sheepishly. "Oh! I was just practicing to get used hearing to baby's crying sounds. You know, Practice makes man perfect right. You should thank me for helping in preparing ourselves for the next step."
"I told you to stay away of Vicky and his ridiculous ideas!" She exclaimed in disbelief and narrowed her eyes on me.
"Hey!! Don't you have trust on your husband?!? Why do you think it's a borrowed idea from Vicky? Can't I think something out of myself!!"
I sat up on the bed from my crouched position over her swollen tummy. Sasha was resting and all ready for her due date, anytime soon.
"For one, it's not a battle, that you need to prep yourself for; atleast not you! You are not the one who's going to be pushing out a little human being". She spat out!
"Hun, calm down. I'll be by your side, for every step."
"Right! Just don't faint in the OPT while I'm giving birth. I'll be grateful. I can't handle a fainting big baby and a crying new baby at the same time, along with the labour pains."
I folded my arms to show my annoyance. "I won't! Wanna bet?"
She let out a giggle and pinched my cheeks, "Awww! Cho sweet my big baby. But this not a thing to bet on".
She gently tugged my shirt, openly indicating for me to come closer. Obliging to her, she placed a chased kiss on my cheeks and very intelligently pushed me back when I tried to get more out of her generous gesture.
"And, I can say without a doubt it's Vicky's name on this novel idea, because he did the same when his son was born. I should warn Vicky to patent his ideas, as here his close buddy is itself trying to steal his novel ideas."
"You are on his side or your husband's side? Whatever it is, it's a damn good idea!"
She cocked her eyebrow, "Says who?"
Pointing to herself with an annoyed expression, she said. "Do I look like I need practice to hear crying sounds before hand? Especially when I'm sure that they are not going to stop for a minimum tenure of one year!!!""Ok ok Happy Pongal, Hun!" I caressed her belly lovingly and drew soothing circles on it, to calm her down.
"I don't want Pongal, I want sizzling chocolate brownie ice-cream, pani poori and golden fry baby corn." The intensity of the twinkle in her eyes increased with every craving of hers.
I let out a wholehearted laugh and shook my head. "You somehow end up with food at every conversation, these days."
As I was dialing to place the order, I heard her grumble under her breath. "Do you see me complaining when you always end up with your cheesy Vitamins, in every conversation?!" When I cast her a look, she nudged her head to place the order instead of deviating from the plan of action."
Few days later
"Uuwaa Uuwaa! Uuwaa Uuwaa!"
As I cradled, Sasha's little version in my arms, smiling at my cute daughter and trying out all the means to stop her wailing; I heard a sarcastic comment making me turn towards it's owner.
"So Sara's dad, how's the stop-the-wailing battle going on? I heard you did so much preparation for it, everything went down the drain, is it?"
