Sasha's POV
🎶🎶
So what am I not supposed to have an opinion
Should I keep quiet just because I'm a women
Call me a b***h cause I speak what's on my mind
Guess it's easier for you to swallow if I sat and smiled
🎶🎶I sat on Raghav's chair with a violent storm brewing inside me. My temper had reached it's limits, fuming and cursing at my Manager, after our encounter few minutes ago. Raghav handed me his flask but the cool water dashing down my oesophagus, did nothing to infuse into my boiling veins.
"Sasha, tell me what happened? You are scaring me here", Raghav's voice was heard like a faint background score.
Raghav squatted on his toes, for our eyes to be perfectly aligned. He held my hands in his and tugged them slightly. "If you don't tell me, how can I help". His voice was so soft and caring, I couldn't neglect it. If I hadn't been in such a foul mood, the twitching corners of my lips would have broken into a sweet smile, but not now. I was about to open my mouth, just then scuffling of shoes was heard and another pair of men's pointed black formal shoes came into my vision.
"What's all the commotion about? Sash, who stepped on your wrong foot?", Rohit asked authoritatively.
Without breaking our eye contact, Raghav answered, "She just came out of her mid-year appraisal discussion and walked out of it like this. She hasn't said a word yet, beside swearing".
"What the hell happened in there?", Rohit's voice mirrored his rage.
"Sasha, we are all here with you, for you. Can you please tell us why you are in this agitated state?..... Did something happen inside the discussion room? Was it related to your appraisal or performance or —", Raghav trailed off. When he saw I didn't make a move to respond back, he continued carefully, "Or.... Did he touch you or say something inappropriate?"
"That ass —!", Rohit bursted out, "Wait till I get my hands on him, he is going to be dead meat soon."
"Calm down man! You aren't helping here", Raghav cast him a warning look and nudged his head towards me. "Sasha, please open up, so that we don't jump to all kinds of conclusions..... Do you want to go somewhere else?"
Behind me I could hear Vicky's one sided conversation through the office extension, before he slammed the receiver back into it's place.
"Ruhi, are you busy? Can you and Chitra, hurry up and come to Raghav's desk.....It's an emergency....With Sasha.... Ok, good. Come soon. Thanks!"
Raghav gave a thankful nod to Vicky.
I was busy planning my next move in my mind. In jet speed, Ruhi and Chitra entered into our bay with questioning looks. Raghav was letting go my hands, to make way for them but I squeezed his, in return. Grateful for my subtle reaction, he stayed put in his place with an understanding nod.
Ruhi came to my side and scooted her chair closer to me. Placing a comforting hand on my shoulder she asked in a concerned laced toned. "Are you ok, Sasha? Do you want to talk to us girls separately?"
"For God's sake! We have been asking the same thing for past ten minutes! .... And why the hell will she go separately, to talk to you, when I'm over here", Rohit arrogantly stated while folding his hands over his chest.
Ruhi glared at him to shut up, "We know you guys are really close friends like siblings and all... but —but not everything can be shared with men, sometimes girls require a female to confide in. Will you just keep your arrogant self aside and focus on the situation."
