Raghav's POV

🎶🎶
Oh, her eyes, her eyes
Make the stars look like they're not shinin'
Her hair, her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful and I tell her everyday

The Monday, following the annual fest; the entire office looked like it had been engulfed in sorrow. Devoid of the fun and frolic mood, that loomed over it for the past week. The company conveniently held the event on a Friday to ensure the employees recovered over the weekend from its aftermath and reported back to work promptly. Keeping a healthy attendance, resulting in zero revenue leakage from the clients.

I had picked Sasha up, at her paying guest accommodation for breakfast and we rode together to office. We decided to utilize the three month period in our kitty, before her onsite deputation, to it's maximum extent. Squeezing out, whatever time we could offer each other to spend in each one's company. As a result of it, daily breakfast, to and fro office rides were our couple's package with additional few dinners thrown occasionally, as a cashback reward. Just like any cashback reward, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. We didn't stress on it too much as we needed to have our personal space too.

Inside the office premises we maintained a healthy distance as before, donning the role of dignified professionals. Still, I didn't want any unwanted attention or fingers pointing towards us. With one high priority agenda on my mind, I entered our floor.

Checked my inbox for any new tasks thrown in my way and my calendar for today's meeting. Figuring out two suitable time slots for my main agenda, I swapped the control from the remotely connected client machine back to my local machine. I shot a ping to the human resource executive handling our client account. Once the greetings were exchanged, I conveyed that I needed her time to discuss an important topic. Luckily, our availability matched and I went ahead to schedule the meeting.

Grabbing my employee ID card, I wore the tag around my neck and left for the said meeting venue.

"Hi Sneha, Raghav here", extending my hand for a handshake, I greeted. "Thank you for taking out your time in such a short duration".

Smiling away, she gestured me to take a seat across the table, in the closed discussion room. "It's part of my job, not a problem. So what's the important thing you wanted to discuss about, Raghav?"

I nervously cleared my throat, how much ever focused I was to get this done, it took some time for me to voice it out. "I am not sure if there is a process in place for this.... I would like to know if apart from married relationship, are other relationships with co-workers can be updated with the organization?"

Sneha smiled back, "As far as I know only married, ex-employees information are to be declared".

Rubbing my nape nervously, I asked, "For Girlfriend and Boyfriend?... Ummm few organizations ask employees to declare them to avoid.... You know... Any sticky issues."

"That's a good thought Raghav. To be transparent, you want to share your professional and personal equations with your co-workers and keep the officials posted". After giving it a thought she said, "Hmm I think there is a provision for it but its in the initial stages of enforcement. Here, this is the option you need to find in your personal details in your company profile. You can update in the remarks section the name of the co-worker and your relationship, until the new option is enabled for all employees."

"Sure, will do that. Anything else that I need to take care of?"

"Try to ask the related co-worker to update in their profile too. Upon updation, it'll go to your manager and senior manager for acknowledgment. If the related co-worker doesn't update from their side within 25 days, there will be a round of discussions with both of you to check if everyone's on the same page and the stated relationship is consented or a false information. Please keep that in mind. Also, request you to undergo the 'Code of Conduct' training. I'm sure it won't be needed, seeing that you have come forth with the declaration. Nevertheless, it would benefit you'll and it's recommended to complete it."
