Sasha's POV

🎶🎶
I gotta say what's on my mind
Something about us doesn't seem right these days
Life keeps getting in the way
Whenever we try somehow the plan
Is always rearranged
🎶🎶

We looked into each other's eyes, like the world had been put to a stand still. The earsplitting music radiating from outside, seemed to be the only proof, to defy it. I whipped my head to glance around to check if a potrait of us was being snapped.

I was really tired after all the fashion show related prep; ensuring everything was in place. Some issues related to our costumes had sprouted out in the eleventh hour, sending me into a frenzy. After calming my hysterical self, I was able to come up with a backup plan and it fit well. Following that, was the nervousness to pull off our role of a warrior couple and making sure Raghav didn't get cold feet. I didn't want him to regret doing it for me.

The whole day felt like climbing up a ladder slowly, one step at a time, tackling one issue at a time. With our successful exit from the stage, my mind jumped to do a happy dance. The euphoric mood had soon converted to intense suspense till the results were declared. To top it all, how could I forget the bomb dropped on me by my manager, in the morning.

Now, when I thought my over worked brain could get some moments of relaxation and tranquility, here Raghav was on his knee with a rose in his hand.

What else could it be?

I constricted the sudden dialation of pupils to reach it's maximum capacity and subdued myself instantly. I took a deep breath and tried to see the scenario with a calm mind. Within seconds my mind was blown off with reality hitting me.

Nooooo! It can't be.

But looks like it is Sasha, why else will he be on his knee and try rewinding his words, he spelled it out to you.

Not now!

A train of thoughts were battling it out against each other in my mind but oblivious to Raghav. I came up with the idea of sidelining it as a prank or a gig. Covering my mouth, I burst out laughing.

Facing Raghav again, I hiccupped in giggles, to ask. "Is this an extension of our act on stage?", circling his posture. "Are you by any chance, videographing all of this for some skit or role play event?? If you had done this back on the stage, it would have been a sure shot win for us".

Raghav frowned and then raised his brow in response.

Looks like he didn't buy it.

Raghav shook his head in disagreement and pointed his eyes to the rose in his hand. Getting tired of waiting for my response, he pulled back his outstretched hand and rested it on his knee. An awkward silence filled between us.

You can't keep him hanging like that forever, Sasha.
He's waiting and he has the right to know it.

I picked him by his shoulders and could sense his body stiffening up.
It was time to come out in the clear, taking his hands in mine, "Ra-ghav, you know I like you too, but —"

🎶🎶
It's so hard to say
But I gotta do what's best for me
You'll be okay
🎶🎶

The sudden change in Raghav's expression faltered me for a moment but with determination I proceeded.

"But, what?", Raghav's voice had an edge to it.
