Vicky's POV
🎶🎶
I walk in on Friday nights
Same old bar, same burned out lights
Same people and all the same faces
So why in the hell does it feel like a different place?
🎶🎶"When is your cat-and-mouse game going to end?" I asked Raghav, shoving my hands into my pockets.
"What game?.... I'm not playing any games", came Raghav's defensive reply.
Asim shook his head disapprovingly, "He's talking about Sasha and you. How you guys are avoiding each other".
"We are not avoiding each other. Didn't we all just have lunch together, an hour back?", Raghav answered smartly.
I let out a sarcastic laugh, "Don't try to fool us. Yes, yes, everything is normal, right? No wonder the two of you, are either sitting across each other or like the North pole and south pole of the table."
"It's too obvious, Raghav", Asim added. "So what's it, this time? Last time it was ego and pride that had put constraints in your bond..... This time around, what's the cause?"
"Hey! Just because we enjoy each other's company, it doesn't mean we need to stick to each other, all the time. Like some adhesive 'superglue' is binding us together". Raghav tried concealing the cracks that were forming in his newfound relationship, but it couldn't escape our expert eyes.
🎶🎶
When they think of me, they think of you
They keep asking how I am
But they're really asking where you've been
I can read between all of the lines
It ain't just us missing all of the times
🎶🎶
"Seriously! .... the Ups and Downs, the two of you are creating in your budding relationship; are more than a heavily pregnant women's mood swings.... So erratic", I let out my slight frustration.Asim chuckled, "Right! They are really perfect for each other.... 'Meant for each other' couple". Raghav's eyes narrowed on Asim and he explained. "Raghav has always been good at jumping into conclusions, like a Kang-ga-roo. By the looks of it, Sasha is not too behind in the competition."
Raghav's eyes swirled in anger, "Don't you dare say anything about Sasha!". He warned Asim sternly.
"Oh —Hello!?!", Asim waved his hands in front of Raghav's eyes. "I called you 'Kang-ga-roo' not her."
I stifled a laugh when Raghav calmed down and corrected Asim. "It's Kangaroo not Kang-ga-roo, Bhai."
Asim shrugged, "Like I care. I'm not giving TOEFL exam, here. I prefer the hindi way of pronunciating it. Seeing that it irritates you, I'll keep calling like that only......Kang-ga-roo, Kang-ga-roo, Kang-ga-roo, until you stop your jumping jack ways."
Raghav grunted, while I laughed my heart out, at their banter.
"I'm telling you, Bhai, stop spending time with Vicky. He's infectious". Raghav advised Asim and I couldn't be bothered about it.
"It makes me so proud that I'm having such an impact on my bro's in such a short duration". I threw my arms over their shoulders, each and shook them.
Raghav instantly removed himself from my embrace and scoffed, "Short duration, it seems. It's going to be months since you shifted over here."
"You got a problem over there, boy?", I raised my brow in question.
