Raghav's POV
🎶🎶
It's been said and done
Every beautiful thought's been already sung
And I guess right now here's another one
So your melody will play on and on, with the best of 'em

Sasha froze, with her mouth ready to clamp onto the pizza half inside her mouth, when my declaration found it's way to her ears. Seconds turned into minutes, I was hoping it didn't turn into hours, before she woke up from her shock. I didn't take my eyes off her, who knew the second I blink, she would run for the door and disappear without a word.Patiently waiting for her response, after all, I had gotten a PhD in it. This moment in the restaurant, hands down, topped the list of the most grueling scenes in my entire twenty five years of my life. My future depended on it, I never felt this anxious, even while facing my job interviewer. God Bless that man who selected me to be part of this organization. Indirectly leading me, five years later, to meet the girl who had made her way into my heart. More like swiped her entry into my life, I smiled internally while recollecting our first meet at my floor's entrance.
The wait was killing me. I gave a light shake to her hand held below mine. Like how I do with my mouse; to check if my computer is hanged, when it's not responding as expected. That seemed do it and she removed her hand trapped under mine in an instant. She slowly placed the pizza back on her plate and gulped down a glass of water. Scanning the table for more water, I offered her the iced lemon tea near me with a smile. Sipping through it, her eyes didn't leave mine. Clearly buying her more time. She slurped through the straw till only the air getting sucked through her empty container could be heard.
Slurp! Slurp! Slurp!
I had enough of hearing the noises, I gently took the container from her hand, making her frown at me.
Wrong move, Raghav!.....
I don't care, her rejection would be better than this slow death I'm going through now.
My thoughts were internally battling. "Eh.... Sasha do you have anything to say?..... You don't have to worry about spoiling our -"
"Me too", were the first words from her mouth.
I nodded my head, just as I had predicted, giving her a sad smile, "I get it. You don't need to worry, we can still stay friends...if it's ok with you?"
Narrowing her eyes slightly, "I said... I like you too."
🎶🎶
You are beautiful, like a dream come alive,
incredible
A centerfold, a miracle, lyrical
You've saved my life again
And I want you to know baby
I, I love you like a love song, baby
🎶🎶A wide grin overtook my face, showcasing my sparkling white teeth. I immediately closed it when the logical side of my brain voiced out - You are eating, Raghav! What if something is stuck between your teeth??
After the initial silence was interrupted by the couple at our neighboring table, who wanted the ketchup bottle to be passed over; our conversation flowed freely, refraining from touching upon 'our confession'. Both of us, equally shy but contend with it. It wasn't the usual four letter L-word that anyone would have expected but it was enough for us. We were embarking on our journey with small baby steps.
The next day, I planned to treat Sasha's hulks, as a token of appreciation for their timely intervention. Vicky overhead me while placing the order for the pizzas.
