"Hey." Jungkook sat beside Maria at the edge of the bed once he saw his girlfriend just sat there, staring at nowhere. She's been doing that these past few weeks after Jake was gone.
"Oh, hey." Maria looked at him as she smiled bitterly before she brought her gaze back to the wall in front of her. Jungkook released a sigh before he overlapped his hand on her that was on her thigh. He rubbed them slowly.
"I miss him, Koo," Maria said as her eyes started to well up with tears again. Jungkook nodded in understanding and quickly engulfed her figure into a warm embrace.
"I know, babe. I know." Jungkook stroked her back, gently as she snuggled into his chest. She started to speak her heart out after weeks she avoided letting everything that was suffocating her inside out.
"I was already broken for years when I have to see him lying on the bed looking like a lifeless boy. At least, I could still see him back then. But, now..." She stopped her words and silent sobs escaped from her again. It made Jungkook tightened the hug as his heart clenched when he listened to her cry.
"Shh, shh. Don't talk anymore if you don't want to. I know, babe. And, I will always know even without you telling them. Just rely on me like how I rely on you. We have each other's back, make use of it." Jungkook consoled her with some words even if he knew how words were almost ineffectively affected someone to get better since he was once there. Maria just stayed in silence as she sobbed in his arms.
After a few minutes, Maria slowly pulled away from his body as she wiped those tears away from her face. She could not look at her boyfriend right now since she knew very well how pathetic she looked.
It's already been two months since the scars from Jake's death formed on her heart and she should be moving on by now. But, instead, here she was, crying her eyes out after keeping the pain she felt after the incident for two months. And, gladly, her boyfriend was very considerate to not trigger her with questions regarding the incident.
"You know the new semester is already starting, right?" Jungkook suddenly asked her that caused her to look up and met with his dark brown orbs.
"Hm, yeah."
"Why don't we continue our study for last semester where we requested to drop? Maybe, it will help you get your mind off of what happened?" Jungkook suggested and Maria started to give it a thought. She let her lips curved up into a smile as she nodded as a response.

3 months later.
"Kook! Here!" Jisung waved at Jungkook who was just got into the canteen with Maria. They both smiled at their group of friends and started to approach their table.
