Dinah's pov

Ally had been acting different; since we left the mall. When I saw her and Normani leave the dressing room, Ally looked flustered. I knew that I should have objected and went with Normani instead. I trusted Ally, and she betrayed me. If they did anything, I'm going to beat both of them. I may love Ally, but I refuse to let her have me looking like a clown.

We were at her house, working on a case. I couldn't think though. I placed my files down on the table. "Ally, what are we? I know to the public you are my fiancé but what are we in reality?"

"Well, we've been dating for a few months and are exclusive, so I've been treating you like you are my girlfriend. What do you think we are?" Ally said, looking up from her paperwork.

"Same, I just had to be sure since neither one of us asked." I pulled my knees to my chest.

"Dinah Jane Hansen, will you be my girlfriend?" She turned to grab my hand.

"Honestly, " I shrugged. "I don't know. It depends on how you answer these questions."

"Okay." She sat up straighter but didn't let my hand go.

I met her gaze because I wanted to see her face when I asked her these questions. "I saw how Normani was looking at you at the mall. Did yall do anything?"

Ally let go of my hand. "No, nothing happened. I swear. We shopped for outfits. She somehow figured out that I had a penis then she got horny. She kept staring at me like she was a starving panther and I was the only raccoon that could fill her up. I felt uncomfortable, so I asked her to stop staring. I told her that I know how she feels about you. Then she pressured me into telling her that I am in love with her. Then she finally let me go after I  said that. There was no kissing, no touching, just talking. I want you and I'm not going to let her get in the way of that. I promise you nothing happened." She confessed.

"Wait. Why did you tell her that?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows.

Ally frowned. "I wanted her to stop looking at me like that. Dinah please, you have to believe me. I have no reason to lie to you. We are getting married in four months. Why would I complicate things now? Especially since we have a good thing going."

I believed her. She had a point. Things were going pretty well for us. Probably because neither one of us had been asking the really tough questions. "If we were not in this arrangement, would you have given me a chance?" I asked, turning my body to face her fully.

"I can't answer that because I have no idea what type of person I would be. In a way, this arrangement made me who I am. I chose to be a medical examiner because it would give us more time. Did my plan backfire? Yes. Do I regret it? No. but anyways I digress. What I am trying to say is that I can't give you a definitive answer. It was out of our control. However, I am glad that we are trying. I've been missing out on knowing an amazing woman." She  kissed my cheek.

Hearing her call me amazing gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. "Yeah. You really have, so don't do anything to mess it up. Do you want children one day?"

She had the biggest smile on her face. "Of course. I want three of them bitches. Do you want any?"

"I don't know if I would be willing to sacrifice my career to raise children." I admitted.ted as I held my breath, waiting for her reply.

She looked at me confused. "Who said anything about giving up your career? I am at a good spot in my career, I don't need to go any higher and I am willing to go lower if that is what it takes. Plus, we both come from money. If I need to help out with my parents' businesses for better hours than I can do that. Hell, if push comes to shove, we can hire a nanny. There was nothing wrong with needing help. It takes a village."
