📍MIDTOWN HIGH, QUEENS

'Are they ever going to call me?'

Joanna walked through the crowded corridor of her school, pushing and dodging past the people that went past her. It had been two months since the dispute in Leipzig airport. Peter and Joanna were told that they would be called, but so far, neither of them received one.

She walked over to her locker and pulled out her ear phones, tucking them into the pocket of her jacket. After placing a few books in it, she pushed her hair out of her face and shut the locker close.

"Join us, and together," a person placed a miniature Lego on her shoulder, "We'll build my New Lego Death Star."

Joanna turned around and saw her best friends, Peter and Ned, grinning at her in excitement. "Woah," she muttered and the three walked down the corridor together, "How many pieces?"

"Three thousand three hundred and three," Ned replied.

"That's cool!"

"I know," he squealed, making her grin, "Wanna build it tonight? Peter said he had the Stark-Dmitri Internship and can't make it."

"Well," she gave a pointed look, adjusting the strap of her backpack, "Did you forget I've got the very same internship, too?" she side-glanced at Peter on her right, who only shrugged.

"Oh yeah," he nodded in realization.

"Hopefully, it'll lead to a real job with them," Peter spoke up.

"That would be so sweet," Ned commented.

"Right?" Joanna and Peter exchanged a sneaky smirk. Neither of them had told Ned about both of them about having superpowers, knowing very well that: 1) He would freak out, and 2) They doubted whether he could keep something this big to himself.

"He'd all be like, 'Good job on all those spreadsheets, Peter'," Ned continued, " 'Get me the report on last week, Joanna. Here's a gold coin.' I don't know how jobs work," he admitted when the two turned to him with confused frowns.

"That's exactly how they work," Peter assured and the three of them chuckled together.

"I'll knock out the bones of the Death Star," Ned offered.

"And maybe you could come by afterwards," Joanna suggested.

"Yeah, for the most part, the difficult thing is the base of it. The top half we can knock out in two hours, tops."
