Panic.
Panic was what Wang He Di saw in Shen Yue's eyes.
Panic was what he felt inside himself.

Three weeks ago...

"Hey! You two! Get a room!" Wang Zi Wei exclaimed.
Dylan and Yue had gone out with their friends for dinner.
That evening they were both feeling high. Everything in their life was going well!
Yue had been recognized for her good job to the animal clinic, while Dylan had been asked to work on a major racing car.
But more importantly, they were happy together.
She had never loved a man so intensely... And he had no eyes but for the incredible woman he had by his side.
So much happiness, in that night so quiet and pleasant, had taken them to drink "a few" glasses of wine... Turning them into two complete idiots who couldn't stop laughing and kissing even for a moment.
"Right! We should!" Yue chuckled, her cheeks so red that they looked like apples.
"We should!" Dylan laughed.
"I love you so much... I love him so much, guys!" Yue turned to their friends, who were enjoying that funny show.
Shen Yue had always been the most serious in their group... She was a kind of big sister to each of them.
It was fun to see that new version so crazy.
Wang He Di gave her another kiss, then he turned to the guys too.
"I love her even more! God, I love her so much! She is... She is perfect! She's so... Sweet... And... And strong and... Sometimes even aggressive, you know?"
"Even in bed?" Jaqi teased them.
"Yeah, man! She's a real little tiger!"
Everyone burst out laughing, ready to see their friend punch him... But surprisingly, Yue brought her face close to Dylan's and...
"Grrr!"
Confirmed. Shen Yue had gone completely insane.
In the middle of the dinner, unable to hold back any longer, the two left the restaurant and ran to Yue's house.
The next morning they woke up clinging to each other, stunned, their naked bodies under the pink sheets.
The alcohol had erased any memory of the previous night, but judging by how messy the apartment was, it had been incredible.

Present...

"We haven't even been together for a year! You haven't met my parents yet! I don't even know how to take care of myself, how can I look after a child?!"  Yue whimpered.
The two had been to the doctor just that morning... The result was what they feared: Shen Yue was pregnant.
"Love, look me in the eye."
Dylan was on his knees in front of her, who was sitting on the sofa in her apartment.
"It's going to be okay. Promise. I'll introduce myself to your parents and they'll love me... They will! And what's this story that you can't take care of yourself? You always have! You're amazing! You're going to be a wonderful mom. That's sure! And I... Well, I'll be a good dad, I promise! I swear he or she will be the happiest and most loved child in the world. I'll work twice as hard, I'll marry you, we'll buy a nice house! Everything is gonna be alright".
"You called me Love..." Yue whispered.
"Is that all you've heard?" he chuckled.
Finally a small smile opened on Yue's face.
She looked into his eyes and she stroked his cheek.
"You look happy" she said.
"I'm happy. A baby, cutie! A baby with my little tiger! It's true, it was unexpected, we will have to learn a lot of things and turn our peaceful lives upside down... But damn, I'm really happy".
"We were stupid that night, huh?"
"Yeah... I don't remember much, but I know for sure you couldn't get your hands off me!" Dylan grinned.
Yue gave him a little slap, blushing.
Wang He Di smiled and with a sigh asked her: "Are you happy?"
He was afraid of the answer.
But she gave him another sweet smile and nodded.
"I'm terrified, but also happy. So happy. We will have a baby!"
"We will have a baby!"
The two hugged tightly.
"But, Didi... Let's wait to think about marriage and homes..."
"Mmh?"
"I want us to stay like this for a little while longer."
"Do you mean that you prefer to live alone?"
"For now, yes."
"Shen Yue! You're pregnant! You need me!"
"Hey! We're neighbors! If I need your help, you'll only need two steps to enter my apartment!"
Dylan looked at her, unconvinced that it was for the best.
"Why?" he asked her.
"Because I don't want to rush things between us. Haste doesn't lead to anything good" she replied.
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure".
"Ok..."
He didn't want to admit it, but he felt a little hurt. He knew it was very soon, but he'd wanted to ask her to move into his apartment for some time.
"Hey, Don Juan?" Yue called him.
"Yup?"
"I love you. Thank you for not losing your mind like me... I don't know if I will really be a wonderful mom as you say, but I know for sure that our little baby will have the most special dad in the world."
Wang He Di's heart melted.
The tears of fear that he had been holding back until that moment rolled down his face in the form of tears of emotion.
"Oh my God... Are you crying? Why? No... Don't cry..." Yue hastened to hug him, surprised.
"I love you" he sobbed, hiding his face in the hollow of her neck.
The more they thought about the metamorphosis of their relationship, the more they found it incredible.
From two strangers at a blind date, to neighbors, to lovers... And then... To parents.
Fate had played madly with them, but every move made led them to victory.
"We're not going to tell our baby that he, she, was born from a hangover, are we?"  Dylan asked suddenly, in a low voice.
"We have plenty of time to come up with a better story, don't worry," Yue replied with a grin.
"We won't even tell him, or her, I've been with half the Chinese female population, right?"
"We'll see..."
"And we won't tell him, or her, you snubbed me the first time I hit on you, okay?"
"Can I also hide the fact that you are his, or her, father?" Yue teased him.
Dylan's eyes widened and he pulled away from her embrace.
"You're not funny!" he snorted.
She burst out laughing and kissed him.
Her feeling of fear and confusion wasn't completely gone yet, but there was a truly comforting warmth in her chest... The idea of ​​becoming a mother thrilled her.
Maybe, after all, she was ready.

And sorry if it took me so long to update.. The fact is that there was a lot of confusion in my head 😂
When I started writing this story, I had the plot in mind up to the point where they would make love for the first time, then I had two possible paths to take.
I liked one of them a lot, but it would have made the story heavier and, above all, the plot looked a lot like that of another DiYue fanfiction by an author that I love and it didn't feel right.
So I chose the second path, which is precisely that of pregnant Yue.
It took me a long time to decide, because from there I had to build the future development of the story in my mind 😄
