RADIOACTIVE HAMSTERS

3 years later...

Wang He Di was drawing with Wang Laohu in the living room, while his eyes continued to go on his wristwatch.
It was ten o'clock in the evening and Shen Yue still hadn't returned.
Just before dinner, she was urgently called to the clinic for a surgery.
"When is mama coming back?" Laohu asked suddenly.
"Soon, baby tiger. A kitten needed her" he replied, stroking his dark hair.
The kid nodded and showed him the drawing he had just made.
"Do you like it, papa?"
"What is it? A mouse?"
"It's a hamster! Can't you see it has a short tail?!"
"Uuuh! Right, right!"
"You know that hamsters like to..."
Wang Laohu began a twisted talk about the life of hamsters, which Dylan tried to follow to the end without bursting out laughing.
Yue used to explain to Laohu a lot of things about animals and he always repeated them to Dylan in his adorable little voice, but exaggerating and modifying the information received.
Just then he was explaining to him that hamster pee was radioactive.
"I would love to have a hamster..." he said after finishing his long speech.
"Really? Isn't it dangerous with all that radioactivity?" Dylan grinned.
"I'm a superhero, it can't do anything to me."
"I understand... Tomorrow we will ask mama what she thinks about it, okay?"
"Are you really going to ask her?!" Laohu's eyes lit up with hope.
"No, you will... This is our tactic, right? You ask, I support you" Dylan replied.
"It always works" his baby tiger smiled with satisfaction.
Wang He Di burst out laughing as he thought back to the absurd things they had asked to Yue.
She usually shook her head and tried to hide a smile, then she accepted.
With that tactic they had managed to obtain a remote controlled car absolutely not suitable for Laohu's age, a pizza at midnight, the costume of Ironman (for Dylan) and Spiderman (for Laohu), to stay up late watching cartoons, to jump barefoot in puddles after a storm, and many other little simple things that were extraordinary for their baby tiger.
"Papa, what did you draw?"
"Mmh? Mama. Look." Dylan showed his drawing to Laohu.
"You always draw Mama" he chuckled.
"I like Mama" smiled Didi.
"Me too. But she is more beautiful than that" replied the boy, pointing to the stylized version of Shen Yue.
"She looks alike to me."
Just then, the apartment door opened and Shen Yue entered.
Wang He Di immediately noticed her puffy eyes. She had been crying. It happened every time she did delicate surgeries... It was her way to let go of the tension.
"Mama! You're back!" Laohu ran to her, who knelt down to receive his embrace.
"Hi, my love! Are you okay?"
"Yes! Papa and I drew!"
"Very good! Can you show me the drawings?"
Laohu nodded and ran into the living room.
Meanwhile, Dylan walked over to her, worried.
"How did it go?" he asked her.
"All right" Yue sighed.
Dylan hugged her and stroked her back.
"You're great" he whispered.
She raised her head and kissed his chin.
"Thanks" she smiled.
"Mama! Look! This is a hamster!"
"Wow! That's wonderful, baby tiger! You did great!"
"And this is you... But you are more beautiful" Laohu gave her the drawing of Dylan and Yue burst out laughing.
"I sure have more hair than that!" she commented.
"It's not true!" Didi replied sulkily.
Yue pressed the drawings to her chest and then kissed both of her men.
"I love you" she told them softly.
"We too!" Wang Laohu answered.
"Let's go for a walk?" Yue proposed.
"Now? Isn't it a bit late? Laohu should already be in bed..." Dylan answered, surprised by the sudden idea.
"It doesn't matter. Let's go" Yue smiled.
"Yes! Let's go!" Laohu hopped enthusiastically.
Dylan looked at his wife's tired but happy face and nodded.

As the small family of tigers strolled through the street-lit streets, Wang Laohu told some anecdotes about hamsters.
Their poo was also radioactive.
"Is this what you teach to our son?" Dylan teased Yue.
"I don't remember certain details" she giggled.
Suddenly the baby tiger, who was among his parents and was holding both their hands, pulled Wang He Di towards him to be looked at and he squinted at him exaggeratedly.
Dylan realized he was trying to wink at him and guessed what he was thinking.
He squinted too and Laohu took a deep breath.
"Mama... I have to ask you something" he said solemnly.
Yue had witnessed the whole scene and she already knew that the two were plotting something, but she pretended not to have noticed anything.
"Yes, what?"
Wang Laohu stopped and turned to her. He drew his sweetest eyes. Those to whom no one could say no.
"Can I have a hamster?"
Shen Yue looked at Dylan.
"That's not a bad idea... Hamsters are cute. And don't worry about the radioactivity, he's a superhero" he said quickly.
"Please, Mama!"
"I'll help him to take care of it, cutie."
Yue smiled and knelt to look Laohu straight in his eyes.
"My love, pets are not toys. They need a lot of care and attention."
"I know! But I'll be good, I promise!"
"Really?"
"Really! I promise! I'll feed it and, I'll play with it and pamper it!"
Shen Yue stroked his cheek.
He looked so much like Didi when his little eyes lit up with that light of determination.
"And I'll take care of the radioactive poo" Dylan added.
"You're asking me something very important, baby tiger. That's why I want you to show me you deserve it. Let's do this... I entrust Kento to you for a month... If you and Pala can take care of it, then we will get a hamster" said Yue .
Kento was the lucky bamboo that Jaqi had given her the year she and Dylan were married.
Didi was not at all happy with the name Yue had chosen for the plant, especially after discovering that Yamazaki Kento had been the background of her wife's cell phone for a long time.
"Ok, Mama." Laohu didn't seem too happy to have to wait that long, but he was ready to win Yue's trust.
She hugged him tightly and kissed him on the cheek.
"Wait, I want to show you something... At the clinic I helped a cat to give birth to her kittens... Look how beautiful they are!" she took her cell phone from her jeans pocket and showed Laohu the picture of the newborn kittens.
He lit up with wonder.
"Awwww! How cute!" he exclaimed.
"I know right?!"
"Wow! Is their mommy okay?"
"She will have to stay at the clinic for a few days, but she's fine."
"You're the best, Mama!"
Dylan was watching his two loves in silence, enchanted by the way Shen Yue related to Wang Laohu and how much their baby tiger adored her.
Until a few years before he believed that having children put out the flame in a couple... But then he realized that he was falling more and more in love with Yue.

They walked a little longer, talking about their day.
On their way home, Wang Laohu began to feel tired, so Dylan made him climb onto his shoulders and soon the baby fell asleep.
Yue intertwined her fingers with Dylan's... She loved walking hand in hand with him.
"You're so good, cutie" Wang He Di suddenly told her.
"Mmh?"
"With our baby tiger... You always know what to say and what to do. You are a wonderful mom."
Yue's eyes turned bright.
"That's not true... I just improvise" she chuckled shyly.
"Tsk. Don't be modest..."
"Okay, I'm great."
They both laughed and blew a kiss.
"You know your Kento won't survive, yes?"
"You stay away from it. I trust Laohu more than I trust you."
"Why? I love Kento..."
"Oh yes, me too!"
"You're... You're still talking about the plant, aren't you Tiger?"
"Mh-mh".
Dylan noticed her sarcastic tone and he stopped short.
"Tiger!"
"What? Both of my Kento are beautiful."
"Your Kento? Your Kento?!"
Yue held back a laugh.
"Come on, Didi! You can't say that Yamazaki Kento is not handsome!"
He snorted and started walking faster.
Yue had to run to be able to follow him.
"Didi, don't be a sulky child!"
But Dylan didn't listen to her and didn't speak to her for the rest of the way.
When they got home, Didi put Wang Laohu to bed and then went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water.
Yue tucked their sleeping baby tiger into bed and kissed him on the forehead.
When she caught up with Dylan, he was still angry.
She hugged him from behind and kissed his back, which was covered in a black shirt.
"You're really stupid. How can you be jealous of an actor?" she whispered, amused.
"I'm more handsome than him" muttered Wang He Di.
"More, more handsome" she confirmed.
"I have a lot more qualities than he does" he continued.
"Sure, my love".
"I also have more hair!"
Yue was trying hard not to laugh. If she was a good mom, it was probably also thanks to the practice she had to do with Dylan and his whims.
"Do you know what else you have that he doesn't have?" she asked him.
"What?"
"Me".
Dylan turned to her.
"True" he smiled at her sweetly.
Shen Yue placed her hands on his shoulders, she made a small jump and twisted her legs around his waist.
"Didi?"
"Yes?"
The girl left a trail of kisses on his neck.
"Grr".
Wang He Di trembled a little at hearing that sound.
He knew what it meant... And in two seconds, their clothes were scattered across the floor of their bedroom.

Honestly, I had a little storm in store for Didi and Yue...
And at this point I can also tell you about it 😄
I had two plots:

- the daughter of an important client of Dylan's tries to win him over on a business trip. Due to a compromising photo of the two and other small signals, Shen Yue deduces that he's cheating on her.

- a girl with whom Dylan had an intimate relationship wants to take revenge on him for making her suffer in the past.
The girl introduces herself to Yue and tells her she is pregnant and she claims that the father of the baby is Dylan.
Shen Yue doesn't believe her, but to make sure she has complete trust in him, Dylan wants to take a paternity test.
Thanks to the help of a friend who works at the hospital (who is the same guy who had Didi excluded from his circle of friends by blaming him for kissing his girlfriend years before), the girl gets a fake test.
At that point there is a break between Didi and Yue.

I had chosen the second option. But when I started writing the chapter, I thought I was doing a bad thing 😂 if you know me a little, you know how fond I am of my characters 😂
Both plots would have put Dylan in trouble... And at this point in the story, it seemed mean and senseless to me. He has shown many times and in a thousand ways that he is worthy of the trust of Yue, their families and their friends... So he deserves to enjoy his happiness 😊
I like stories where at some point the protagonists have to overcome difficult moments (as long as they lead to a happy ending), but that doesn't have to be like that in all my fanfics 😊 so I decided that this will just be a happy story 😂
