"Cutie? Cutie, wake up..."
Shen Yue heard Wang He Di's voice and she opened her eyes.
The boy was on his knees by the side of the bed.
"Mmh?"
"I'm sorry to wake you up, I know you have the afternoon shift today, but I really have to go to the workshop... Can you come and lock the door?"
Yue nodded and stood up reluctantly. Sally still slept like an angel.
She walked Dylan to the door, between one yawn and another.
"Thanks, tiger. Go back to sleep, okay?" he whispered softly.
Yue nodded... She couldn't speak when she was still so half asleep.
Dylan chuckled and leaned over to kiss her on the cheek.
"Bye" he smiled at her.
Yue waved to him, then she closed the door and went back to bed, with that small gesture of tenderness engraved in her heart.===
Later that evening, Yue came home from work exhausted.
It had been a hell of an afternoon at the clinic.
She took the key from her purse and slipped it into the slot, but before she could turn it, someone behind her slammed the door of Wang He Di's apartment so hard that the windows in the hall rattled.
"THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU SEE ME!" yelled the girl who had just left the apartment.
Yue watched her walk off on two pairs of red heels.
After a second, Dylan appears, wearing only a pair of boxers.
"AS IF I WANTED TO SEE YOU AGAIN!" he yelled back to the girl.
Shen Yue stared at the scene with wide eyes.
When Dylan noticed her presence, he smiled at her.
"Welcome back, cutie!"
"What have you done this time? You have to stop making those poor girls suffer!"
"Hey! It's not nice to scold me right away without even knowing what happened" he muttered.
"I know you".
"Tsk. Goodnight".
Dylan closed the door, leaving Yue standing there.
He felt frustrated. Again, that night he hadn't been able to conclude anything with the girl who had screamed at him just before.
His body no longer reacted to the charm of the beautiful women he went out with.
He didn't want to go to a doctor, but he was starting to think that maybe it might be the only solution. He couldn't explain what was happening to him.
Suddenly he heard someone knock on his door.
With a sigh he went to check who he was and not seeing anyone in the peephole, he knew it was Yue.
"Sorry..." the girl murmured, looking down at her feet.
"For what?"
"You're right, I scolded you without even asking what happened... Is everything ok, Didi?"
Yue's worried look warmed his soul.
The boy sighed and he let her in.
"I have... A problem" he confessed once they were seated on his sofa.
He was embarrassed, but he needed to talk to someone about it and she was the only person he really trusted.
"She's pregnant?" Yue asked.
"Who?"
"The girl who walked away screaming."
Dylan's eyes widened and he laughed.
"No, fool! How does that come to your mind?!" he exclaimed.
"Are you serious?! It can happen, with all the ones you take to bed!"
"Woah! Is that jealousy I hear in your sweet little voice, tiger?"
Yue kicked him, knocking him off the couch.
"Ouch! Why are you so violent?!"
"Because you're an idiot!"
"GRRRR!"
Another kick.
"Are you going to tell me what your problem is or not?! I'm sleepy!"
"Aaaargh! Ok! So... Let's just say... It doesn't work anymore..." Dylan's face was red as fire.
"It doesn't work... What doesn't work?" Yue was confused.
"Do you really want me to tell you, tiger?!"
"If you don't talk how can I understand?!"
Dylan let out a frustrated scream and then he pointed to his boxers.
When Yue's innocent mind finally managed to put all the pieces of the puzzle together, her eyes grew as big as tennis balls.
"Oh my..." she whispered, shocked.
"Can you avoid looking at me like I have a deadly disease, please" Dylan muttered.
"But how could this happen?! Since when?!" exclaimed the girl.
"I don't know, for about a month maybe... Recently I went out with several girls, all different from each other, to see if it would work again, but... Nothing. I look at them and I don't feel anything. Some of them didn't take it well".
"Oh, Didi..."
"If you don't stop looking at me like that, I'm leaving."
"Ok, sorry! It's just... It's weird! Anyway, I think I know what your problem is."
"I'm listening, Dr. Shen."
Shen Yue looked him straight in his eyes.
"You are tired. You are tired of all these women who come and go without leaving you anything."
"Well, usually they left me something..."
"Shut up and listen! Wang He Di, your body is asking you for a serious relationship!"
Again, Dylan laughed in Yue's face.
"Keep being a vet, you do better" he grinned.
Yet another kick.
"Ouch..."
"You watched a love movie on a Saturday night!"
"This story again?!"
"It was a signal, Didi! Why don't you understand?!"
"Because it's absurd. I don't want a serious relationship. I'm fine. Maybe I'm really tired... But not of this kind of life! I'll take a moment to rest. I don't think I'm totally broken."
Dylan's gaze made Yue back off.
"What do you mean?"
"Your legs still affect me. So I'm not totally broken."
"My legs are ready to give you another kick if you don't stop being an idiot with me!"
After looking at him with menacing eyes, Shen Yue's gaze became softer.
Deep down, she understood that even if Dylan was trying to minimize the situation, it wasn't going to be easy for him.
"Can you listen to me for a moment, please? I'm serious... You should try dating a woman in a... normal way"
Wang He Di looked at her, lost.
"What should I do?" he asked her.
"First of all, we have to try to figure out what kind of woman you like. Your true ideal type. Not the lies you tell everyone to get them to bed. And then... Well, I'll help you find her. You'll ask her out and you will try to get to know her. Who knows, maybe she will be your first love".
"This is crazy" Dylan said.
"I pretended to be pregnant as soon as you asked me to. Can you try to trust me too and follow my crazy plan?" Yue's sweet smile made him smile too.
"Do you think I don't trust you? I just told you my thing isn't working!" he exclaimed.
They both laughed, then they stood in silence for a moment looking at each other.
"If you go and put something on, I might as well give you a comforting hug" Yue said suddenly, rolling her eyes.
"Tsk! Why dress up? Come here, tiger! GRR!" Dylan winked.
"Don't act like a macho, I know your secret..." Yue sang.
"Hey! This is mean!"
"I know!"
"Little devil".
Grumbling, the boy went into the room to put on a shirt and shorts, but when he returned to the living room there was no one anymore.
He felt a little sad... He really wanted that hug.
He bent down to pick up a piece of paper that had fallen to the ground and as he stood up, two thin arms wrapped around his waist from behind.
"Don't be worried, ok? It'll be fine" Yue's warm voice whispered.
Dylan smiled and stroked her hands.
"Can you be my neighbor forever?"
"Tsk! Say these kinds of phrases to the girls you'll know and that's it. Soon you will have a wife" laughed Yue.
"See? I can do it."
"Mmh... I should go now... I'm a little tired".
"Sure, go... Thanks for your help, tiger. It won't work, but I'll try to follow your plan."
"It will work. Goodnight, Didi!"
"Goodnight, cutie".Author's Corner
