JUST DANCE

Shen Yue and Wang He Di ate takeaway food together in the boy's apartment.
"Gosh! You ordered too many dishes!" Yue sighed, rubbing her belly.
"Maybe you're right" Dylan laughed.
The table was an expanse of empty boxes.
Suddenly Wang He Di received a phone call.
Seeing the number on the screen, he decided to ignore it.
The cell phone stopped ringing for a moment, but then it started again... One, two, three, four times...
"You should answer, it seems important" Yue said.
"Nah".
"Who is it? A girl with a broken heart because of you?
"Er..."
Dylan's face indicated to Yue that she had guessed right.
"What an idiot! Come on, answer!"
"No! If I answer now, she'll think I care about her... That's not a good idea."
"Wang He Di! This is so mean!"
"Tiger, I only slept with that girl once after I met her at the club. I'm not even sure we introduced to each other. We probably went straight to bed after dancing together for two minutes."
Yue's eyes widened, shocked.
"What's up?" Dylan asked, amused.
"How can you do it?!" she exclaimed.
"What? To make all the women fall at my feet? Did you see me?" he winked.
"No! I mean... How can you live like this? How... How can you sleep with so many different people without feeling anything for them?"
"Tsk! You just don't know what fun is, huh? Feeling doesn't need to be in everything."
"I disagree" Yue muttered.
"Cutie... Look at it like this: it's like taking a ride on a roller coaster" Dylan explained.
For him it was so simple, he didn't understand why Shen Yue was so indignant.
"It's not fair to the girls you're going out with."
"The girls I go out with are not stupid. They know what they can get from me. And for your information, I'm very clear with each of them. Some try to ask me more and suffer if they don't get it, but it's not my fault, I don't promise anything to anyone."
Yue seemed to think about it for a moment.
"But... Isn't it... Sad?" she finally asked.
"What?"
"Waking up next to someone and feeling absolutely nothing seeing her there with you."
Dylan burst out laughing.
"Are you serious?!" he exclaimed.
"Yes! Why are you laughing?! It's one of the most beautiful sensations in the world! Making love to a person and finding her or him next to you the next morning, asleep... Watching her or him until she or he opens her or his eyes..." Yue had red cheeks and she was looking at her feet while talking.
Dylan thought she was adorable.
"You make it look like a beautiful thing" he smiled at her.
"It is!"
"You are very beautiful too".
"Stop it" she snorted, annoyed.
Dylan laughed again and ruffled her hair.
"So, my beautiful neighbor, what do you want to do now?"
"Um... I don't know. What do you usually do after dinner?" Yue asked.
Dylan raised an eyebrow with a grin.
"OH, COME ON! EVERY NIGHT?!" she exclaimed incredulously.
"Everyone has their hobbies, cutie".
Shen Yue shook her head, snorting.
"Looks like I have to find other hobbies, huh? I have an idea!" Dylan said.
"Tell me!"
"I want to invite you to dance."
"I don't go to the disco. And above all I don't know how to dance" Yue replied.
"Who talked about the disco? Come on, come on."
Wang He Di took her hand and led her into the living room.
He turned on the television and the Nintendo Wii placed next to it and then he moved the sofa and some gym equipment that he had scattered on the carpet.
"What are you doing?" Yue laughed.
"Just Dance, babe" he replied, showing her a video game case.
"I said I can't dance!" she retorted.
"And since when who plays Just Dance knows how to dance? It's like going to the karaoke... If you know how to sing, you don't really enjoy it!"
Shen Yue laughed again.
That boy and his weird theories.
However, she decided to let go and indulge him.
And she did the right thing, because she had fun like a child!
The two kept clashing and falling as they tried to mimic the dance moves shown by the game.
After several choreographies, they found themselves lying on the floor next to each other, short of breath and with a red face.
"I thought I was a mess, but you are worse than me!" Yue exclaimed as she tried to breathe again.
"What?! Didn't I look like John Travolta?!"
"You looked like an idiot!"
They looked at each other and laughed until they lost their breath again.
"Uff... I better go now, tomorrow morning I have to go to work earlier to check the conditions of a kitten I operated on today" Yue sighed suddenly.
"Okay, I'll take you home" Dylan replied.
More laughter.
They had entered the "Idiots" mode and any nonsense seemed hilarious.
They left Dylan's apartment and went to Yue's, in front of it.
At the door, the girl turned to Wang He Di with a huge smile.
"Thanks for today, Didi!"
"Didi?"
"You told my friends to call you that..."
"But you can't do it!"
"Why not?!"
"Only friends can call me that. Tell me, would you ever accept advances from someone you call Didi?"
"Again with this story?"  Yue rolled her eyes, amused.
"Remember the friend rule, cutie" Dylan winked at her.
Yue stood up on tiptoe to pinch his cheek.
"If you can call me Cutie, I can call you Didi" she said.
"Ok, ok! Now go to sleep little Tiger."
The two smiled at each other with affection and then they said goodnight.

Once in his bed, Wang He Di looked at the empty space next to him.
He wondered if what Yue had told him was true. If it were really so nice to wake up and always find the same person next to you... A special person.
Many of the girls he had been with had fallen asleep there with him.
It had never been a problem for Dylan.
But the feeling Yue was talking about, he had never experienced it.
He closed his eyes and saw the girl he'd spent with one of the most ordinary yet funniest days ever.
He had to be honest: he had pretended not to know how to dance.
Seeing her move in that funny way made his heart melt... And hearing her laugh every time he pretended to fall with his butt on the floor, warmed his heart.
He decided that he would always try to make her smile and have fun.
She was a beautiful person, Shen Yue... She deserved all the smiles in the world.
