"Mom! How many people did you cook for?!" Dylan exclaimed, amused.
Every time he went to his parents for dinner, his mother prepared all his favorite dishes... Which were so many!
"Eat! I want to see all the plates empty!" Ms. Wang smiled.
She loved cuddling her son!
Mr. Wang patted Dylan affectionately on the shoulder before sitting down at the table next to him.
"Do as she tells you or there will be trouble" he laughed.
Wang He Di was always happy to go home!
During dinner they talked about the reading club Ms. Wang attended, the beautiful flowers that Mr. Wang had planned to plant in his garden now that spring was finally there, and the cars that Dylan had been working on that week.
The conversation was suddenly interrupted by Dylan's cell phone and he left the room for a moment to answer the call.
"Sorry" he said as he sat back down at the table.
"Are you okay? Is there any girl at home waiting for you?" muttered his mother.
"Which girl?" he laughed.
"One of the many who sleep in your bed every day without even knowing your name."
"Nobody has slept in my bed for a while now, except me" Dylan replied as he tasted a slice of strawberry pie.
He was so focused on his sweet, he didn't notice the shocked faces of his parents.
"Anyway it was my neighbor, on the phone. Her washing machine broke down and flooded the house."
"Oh! Shen Yue?" Ms. Wang's eyes lit up.
"Yeah".
"Poor girl! Go help her!" Mr. Wang exclaimed.
"She said that she already called Mr. Hao and that he is taking care of it. She just wanted to ask me if she could go to my apartment in the meantime."
"And you said no?!"
"What?! I said yes, of course!"
"Then why are you still here?! Go and open the door for her!"
"She's already in, mom. She has the keys."
Again, Messrs Wang's jaw hit the floor.
"You never wanted to leave us a copy!" Mr. Wang exclaimed.
"Why should I?" Dylan laughed.
"Honey... That girl is very special to you, right?" his mother smiled.
She remembered the way he looked at her the day he introduced Yue to her.
"Yes, she is... Special".
It was so rare to see Wang He Di blush!
A light of hope shone in the hearts of Messrs. Wang.
"How special?" grinned his father.
Dylan rolled his eyes.
"If you want to know if I like her... The answer is yes" he said firmly, without a shadow of a doubt in his voice.
His feelings were finally clear to him.
Love was a stranger to him, but how could he not recognize it when it was sending him so many signals? The need to have her next to him, the warmth in his chest when he was with her, his heart pounding every time he saw her, the desire he now felt only for her.
It was impossible not to understand that he was totally crazy about Shen Yue.
"I feel like crying" his mother said, her eyes shining.
He stood up and hugged her, amused and moved by her reaction.
"And her? Does she reciprocate your feelings?" Mr. Wang asked him.
"I think she only sees me as a friend... But I'm not sure... How can I find out?"
"It's easy! Kiss her!" Ms. Wang exclaimed.
"WHAT?!"
"Just kiss her! That's what I did with your father! Kiss her and you'll understand everything."
"It can't be that easy, mom!"
"But it is! Trust me!"
Wang He Di thought about it for a few moments... It seemed absurd that a simple kiss could be the answer to his doubts...
"Are you still here?! Go!!"
His parents pushed him out of the house... If there was even a chance that their big boy could have finally found the right person, he absolutely had to grab it!===
When Dylan returned home, he found Shen Yue reading a book on the sofa.
"Hey! Are you okay? Your apartment?" he asked her.
"Hi! Um... Luckily the damage wasn't too bad. Mr. Hao's workers have been working until now to get the water out. He said it will take a few days to fix everything" she replied with a sigh.
"I'm sorry... Anyway, stay here as long as you need, ok?"
"Really? If it's a problem I can go to Jaqi..."
"Tiger, are you serious? Your Didi is here, you don't have to go anywhere!"
Yue smiled and got up from the sofa to hug him.
"Thank you!"
Dylan returned the hug, while his mother's words continued to be heard in his mind.
A yawn from Yue brought him back to the present.
"Let's go to sleep" he told her.
"I can sleep here on the sofa" she replied.
"Cutie, this isn't the first time we've slept together... What's the problem?"
Yue blushed and looked at her toes.
"Your bed..."
"My bed?"
"Didi! All the women who have been there!"
Dylan looked at her, amazed.
He hadn't thought of it.
"Ok, buy a new bed, annotated! Shall we sleep on the sofa?" he smiled enthusiastically.
Yue's eyes widened.
"Are you stupid?" she laughed.
"Why?"
"You can sleep in your bed!"
"But I feel lonely..."
Yue shook her head and lay down on the sofa.
"Go! Goodnight, Didi."
She just had time to close her eyes and she felt herself pushed a little farther.
"Come on, make room for me!"
Dylan lay down next to her and closed his eyes.
With a smile he hugged her and held her close.
Yue stood looking at him in silence... She didn't understand why he wanted to sleep there with her on that little sofa, when he could go to his comfortable bed.
Feeling observed, Wang He Di opened his eyes and his heart began to beat faster... She was so close!
"How are your parents?" Yue asked him in a low voice.
"They're fine, thanks. Next time they want me to take you with me."
"Really?"
"Yes! My mother has only seen you once and she already loves you" Dylan chuckled.
"How sweet!"
"Yeah! And then she wants to forcefully extort your Yueyue Cake recipe from you!"
Shen Yue laughed heartily.
"I can give it to her" she said.
Dylan smiled, while his hand went up to caress her arm, then her hair, then her face... In the silence of that moment there was no embarrassment, but a deep sense of peace.
Wrapped in the warmth of his embrace, Shen Yue felt safe, protected... And in the meantime, extremely vulnerable. His caresses made her tremble.
There was no need for words, their eyes were talking to each other in a whole new language.
There was so much light in them that they could light up the room and maybe even the night.
Dylan couldn't hold out any longer. Without leaving her porcelain face, he slowly approached her... He kissed the tip of her nose, then her cheek... He smiled when he saw Yue's eyes close.
Neither of them was breathing.
Wang He Di's lips moved to the corners of her so inviting mouth... He felt her tremble.
"Shen Yue" he said in a sweet whisper.
That was the name of the woman who had stolen his heart, soul and body.
After one last caress, he took courage and kissed her.
At thirty-one years, his lips, which had touched an infinite number of other lips, finally gave their first real kiss. Inside him, in every part of his body, were millions of fireworks ready to explode...
And it was Shen Yue who lit the fuse, when she, after a moment's hesitation, returned the kiss with the same passion as Wang He Di.
They were close on that little sofa, but close was not enough!
Their bodies searched for each other like magnets.
Dylan held her even closer to him, intoxicated by that heat.
One hand of Yue was firmly on Wang He Di's cheek, while the other gripped his shirt tightly, right at the height of his heart.
For a moment, Dylan dared to hope that Yue would return his feelings.
But when he had to part with those beautiful heart-shaped lips to breathe, he saw fear, guilt and remorse in her eyes.
His heart broke into ten thousand pieces.
"Didi?" Yue's voice was uncertain.
"Sorry, I got carried away with curiosity! I've been wanting to know for a long time if kissing my little tiger was like kissing other girls!" he chuckled.
He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable... If she found out his true thoughts about her, she would run away.
Something else appeared in Yue's eyes, but he didn't have time to decipher it, because the girl hid everything inside her with a nervous laugh.
She kicked him off the couch.
"Don't ever try again, you idiot! Or I'll rip all that stupid hair you have!" she threatened him.
"How violent! Ok, I'll let you sleep in peace... Are you sure you don't want to go to bed? I always change the sheets, you don't have to worry."
"It's ok, I'm staying here. Goodnight..."
Dylan nodded and got up off the floor.
"Goodnight, cutie... If you need anything, call me".
As soon as he was in his room, he threw himself into bed and took a deep breath.
His stomach and his heart were still in turmoil from that extraordinary kiss... But his mind was haunted by the total lack of happiness in Yue's eyes after it.
"It's okay if you don't love me now, tiger... You will, someday. I'm gonna conquer your love" he thought with a small smile.Meanwhile, in the living room, Shen Yue was trying to hold back the tears.
How could Didi have kissed her just to compare her to those chickens that he used to hang out with?! How could he have just thought of comparing them?!
And then... He hadn't even told her the answer to that stupid investigation!
"Are you stupid, Shen Yue?! You don't even want to know! You don't care!" she scolded herself in a low voice.
For a moment she had believed that there was something more in that kiss... If she had to be honest, it was something completely new. What she felt when she felt Wang He Di's soft lips dance with hers was completely new. That explosion of color before her eyes was completely new...
Shen Yue's heart sent a letter to her brain, but fearing to find out what it was about, it locked it safely in a drawer of her mind.
"That's not what you think, ok?" whispered the girl, gently patting her chest.
"It's not what you think".Author's Corner
Ciao!
How are you? 😊
You know... Once, a dear friend of mine, was in a crisis because she couldn't understand the feelings of the person she liked...
She talked about it with me and together we began to devise strategic plans to finally be able to discover the truth (I won't tell you what crazy ideas we had thought 😅).
As we talked about it, her grandmother was cooking and she heard us.
She turned off the stove and sat down at the table with us, with a very serious face...
"Are you stupid? Just kiss him!" she said.
She told us that it was in this way that she understood that her husband, very shy, was in love with her.
Sometimes I think back to this story and I smile... I don't know if I would ever have the courage to do such a thing, but I'm happy that Wang He Di followed the advice 😁 too bad he didn't understand the answer 😅
He focused on the wrong thing... But luckily, he still decided he wanted to try to conquer our little tiger 💜💛
Let's see what he will do! 😁
Thank you so much for continuing to read my stories ❤️
These have been a bit difficult days... I have had flu and fever for days, I could not stand up without passing out 😅 I was afraid I would not be able to have the vaccine which was already scheduled for this morning, but in the end I have it done ❤️ so now I'm back in bed k.o. 😂 The good thing is that I took the opportunity to watch all the episodes of "The rational life" 💜
See you soon, I hope!
A big hug,
Lucrezia
