Deacon could not take his eyes off Wendy as she stood with the wedding procession. He was never one for affairs such as this, but he found himself actually enjoying the tranquil serenity of the occasion.

His life was his business and he ensured he was solely centred on and around it. He spent most of his life in an office, in a boardroom or the conference rooms of some business cooperation ensuring he built his empire one way or the other. Affairs of the heart and love were never his go-to.

He smiled to himself thinking how one overheard conversation and being in the right place at the right time changed his life and opened up his heart to what it truly wanted. For four years he had considered what he felt for Wendy as lust and had believed getting her in bed would be the balm to soothe his carnal cravings for her but these few days being with her at the Manor House showed him that he needed her on a much higher and permanent level.

His eyes raked over her taking in every appealing and attractive detail of her. She looked like the sculpture of a yearning lover who fashioned his heart's true desire from his deepest longing and asked the god of love to festoon her with purity as she offered her life.

The carnal side of him had him fueled with hedonistic thoughts as his eyes travelled the magnificent contours of her curvaceous frame clad in a white bodycon dress. The teasing bodice with its deeply cut v-shaped design gave a tantalising view of the delicious round dark orbs of her breasts. He liked the way the clinched waistline gave a full few of her defined hips and he marvelled at how the deep split from her mid-thigh to the hemline of the dress offered a tantalising peek of a thigh as she moved.

His eyes drank in every detail of her compelling frame like a man whose thirst was not quenched for days, and yes he thirsted for his fake fiancé with a realness that surprised and fascinated him yet left him comforted.

He liked the way her eyes kept darting to him and how they stayed trained on him at crucial aspects of the wedding detail that had him thinking that whatever spell was crafted by her little white lie had her under its grasp too. It filled him with pleasure.

He let his eyes hold her dark ones looking mysterious under the smokey eye makeup, he listened to Adam as he spoke his vow hoping to convey those deep promises to her.

He wondered if she realized it as he saw her full scarlet lips turned up in a sweet smile as she looked at him but after a few seconds she turned away and listened to her cousin return vows when her eyes found his again there was something in their depths that had him contemplating that he best tell Wendy how he truly feels before they left for Dresdale.

"Isn't she beautiful," he heard the little old lady beside him say after a gentle nudge.

He did not take his eyes off Wendy as he answered not knowing that Amanda Giles was complimenting Georgia the epitome of what brides were made to look like.

"Absolutely," he whispered wishing they were alone so he could express exactly how he felt to Wendy.

Amanda who heard the sentiments in his single reply followed his gaze to Wendy and smiled knowingly before she said.

"Wendy Ann is my goddaughter and I must say I look forward to seeing her walking down the aisle."

"I plan to not disappoint you," he responded looking down at her.

The old woman smiled pleasingly as she patted his hand then turned her attention back to the couple before them.

Deacon's mind drifted as the event progressed to a close. He fitted in his mind the pieces that would give him the one thing he wanted and that was to have Wendy by his side as his wife. His mind was on its way to creating full-blown scenarios when he heard cheers of delight which pulled him from his fantasies to see that Adam and Georgia were now finally married.

His eyes watched as Wendy followed the happy couple. He wanted so badly to go to her to whisk her away and profess all his feelings but he knew he still had to wait. There was still the reception and the many wedding photos. He was willing to be patient when he saw Georgia coming up to him and taking him to Wendy where she instructed pictures to be taken.

He felt an ease wash over him as his body nestled into Wendy's. He inhaled the sweet scent of her and basked in the feel of love and family as the others joined in the photos upon Georgia's instruction. He laughed when Precilla made some funny remark as Catherine chided the photographer for ensuring he took only her good side.

He knew without a doubt that he wanted to be a part of this family to claim them as his own. They would be the additional happiness that he had when with Leo and Ky. He was grateful that he was given more people to cherish and care for.

It, however, all came crashing down when Catherine came up to them and hugged them both to her side and said cheerfully. "Soon that will be you both. I am so happy that genuine love has come to Preston Manor again and to think I doubted I would be alive to see you my darling Wen in love."

When Catherine turned to him and said with a broad smile her eyes brimming with tears of happiness his heart sank as he knew that they were all happy with lies. They had no idea that he and Wendy were here on a pretence as well as Wendy had no idea how he truly felt about her.

"Mother I...I," Wendy started but the words died on her lips as she could not find it in her to lie anymore when all she wanted were truths that could grant her the desire of her heart, but she knew nothing good came from lies.

Deacon felt her composure slip but they were both saved from any further need to lie when other family and friends came up offering congratulations to Precilla the happy mother of the bride.

"I need to go by the house," Wendy said rushing away before anyone else could offer their sentiments on the false affair that was ripping her heart apart.

Deacon followed after and ignored the curious stares as Catherine frowned. He was going to follow his heart and tell Wendy how he felt. They would not go to Dresdale on lies, it ended here tonight.
