February 2009

The next morning you were reluctant to go into work again, you thought everyone would be judging you, thinking ill of you however no one said a word about it.

Rossi bought your meals ignoring your guilty protests and Spencer was happy to say "coffee's on me" whenever he drove past the coffee shops on the way back from interviewing the victims' families.

By the third day of working, it seemed so normal for Rossi to buy your meals, and Spencer to get you drinks, and still, no one ever said anything more about it.  They didn't seem judgemental at all, you did still feel extremely guilty.

The case was a tough one however the team was close to catching the unsub. While following an important lead, you, Spencer, and Emily were sent to check out an old abandoned house at the end of a cull-de sac.

It was where the unsub had grown up and was a possible location for where the unsub was taking and hiding his victims.

Stress levels were high, as time was running out for the most recent victim. Elizabeth Milton had been missing for almost 5 days now and in that time none of you could imagine the horrific things she might've endured.

What made matters worse for you all, was that information was leaked to the news about the BAU working this case. It was important that information stayed secret because if leaked it might've caused the unsub to panic and kill the victim quicker.

While you, Spencer, and Emily searched the house the rest of the team searched an abandoned warehouse falling a separate lead. Both locations seemed like possibilities.

The house was old and empty, the floorboards creaked, and the ceiling leaked molding the wood underneath it.

"This place is a safety hazard" Emily mumbled stepping over a bunch of broken floorboards.

"You should see my apartment before you call this place a safety hazard" you chuckled to yourself.

"What do you mean?" Spencer asked.

"I've got my own ecosystem growing on my walls" you sighed looking up at the hole in the ceiling.

"Surely that's not safe?" Spencer frowned.

"Who cares?" You shrugged.
"We live in a very capitalist society, you either have money or you don't. If you have it you're cared about, if you don't, no one gives a shit."

"You won't be living there forever, now that you're working with us" Spencer smiled.

"We'll see" you sighed.
"What's the Bill Gates saying again? 'If you are born poor, it's not your mistake, but if you die poor, it is your mistake.'"
