MAY 2010

You sat there panting for quite some time, while Penelope dabbed your head with a wet cloth, and Spencer went back and forth re-filling your water bottle.

"You feeling better?" Derek asked unwrapping the hand wraps from your hands. You nodded, then fanned your face.

"I'm... really... Hot still" you murmured tiredly as you turned towards Spencer.
"Help me take this off"

"Have you got something underneath it?" Spencer questioned.

"Reid, you realize every woman usually has to wear a training bra under their workout clothes, to keep things in place" Penelope pointed out fiddling with the bottom of the shirt, as you lifted your arms up and she and Spencer pulled the shirt off.

The shirt was long-sleeved, a bad decision on your part because you got hot quickly, but now no insecurity could stop you from removing the shirt.

Penelope was the first to notice the sheer amount of scars on your body, she had gotten a glimpse of your arms before, but your back was what made her gasp slightly.

She didn't mean to gasp, and she received a death stare from both Spencer and Derek for gasping but it just slipped out.

When Derek saw them, he closed his eyes for a moment and turned his head away.

In other words, those were the two reactions you really didn't want to get.
"They're ugly... I know" You sighed dropping your head down to your chest, as your breathing began to steady.

"They're not ugly..." Penelope began.
"I didn't mean to gasp, it's just that... I just can't imagine why someone would want to hurt you like that"

"They really aren't ugly Y/n" Spencer whispered.
"Personally, I think these two scars are placed in the exact area angel wings would be"

He softly ran his fingers over the marks, then drew imaginary angel wings, the soft feeling of his fingers sent a warm tingle down your back.

"Maybe that's because you're an angel Y/n... It explains why you're so gorgeous, I mean you're literally perfect." Penelope beamed pushing a piece of hair out your face.

"Sometimes... My dad would get so mad, he'd pull his belt off and I couldn't tell if he was pulling his belt off to hit me, or to get ready to--..." You explained.

"I remember having a shower after he hit me... We didn't have enough money for hot water, so it was cold... My back stung... The blood didn't seem to stop running... I wondered when the water would run clear."
