Unfortunately, the day after you and Spencer arrived back in the US, Spencer had to go back to work, which was unfortunate, because the day he returned the team was called in on a case across the country.

Ultimately, leading to you not being able to see the team and tell them the good news, and your fiance to be, gone for 2 whole weeks.

You made do though, you continued with therapy, including taking part in super weird group therapy. You took your meds every day and called Spencer every night to make sure he was ok.

At times you got a little ahead of yourself and excitedly started typing up wedding venues, and dresses.

"Hey, we're on our way home" Spencer mentioned over the phone.
"And, I was thinking, how willing would you be to set up a family dinner tonight?"

"Tonight?" you questioned in shock.
"Uh... I could figure something out"

"Ok, no pressure, of course, it's just everyone wants to find out about what we did on our vacation, and well... We have a lot to tell them... If you get what I mean?"

"Definitely" you chuckled.
"Ok, tell everyone to get to ours at around 7:30 pm.

"Will do, see you soon," Spencer said before hanging up.

Truthfully, you weren't all that bothered about the sudden plans to have family dinner, it wasn't like you had much to do.

In fact, you were planning on binge-watching a show you had binge-watched twice this year, so really Spencer's sudden plans saved you from that fate.

Hopping on your motorbike, you drove to the supermarket, picked up some ingredients, and drinks, then drove back home to get started.

You didn't plan on doing anything fancy, comfort meals were always the best way to go for special dinners, it made things seem less formal, and people could enjoy the food more.

Although you vowed never to cook an Italian dish for an Italian at the fear that you would get garotted by them, you decided to make your mother's spaghetti bolognese

When you were 8 you found a notebook full of recipes, and your curious self decided to make them all, not all at once of course.

Spaghetti bolognese ended up being everyone's favorite dish of yours. It was the epitome of comfort food.

After you finished preparing it, and all the food was in the pan, cooking away nicely, you decided to clean the apartment.

You weren't sure how long it had been since this place had been given a good clean, but looking at the dust on the surfaces, you guessed it had been a very long time.
