Chapter 3

"P p prince? I I uh, it's not what it looks like, I swear!" He said in fear as he crawled himself against a tree as Athan slowly walked after him with anger.

"Oh? So, what was those words again?" He spoke calmly as anger still engulfed his entire being.

"I I uh, nothing, I swear I wasn't slandering your name"

Athan became even angrier and raised his voice this time, hovering over the scared vampire.

"Don't fucking lie to me!, you will have a pet if you want? Is that what you said? I don't give a flying fuck if you slander my, name! But what you won't, do is, slander the name of every vampire that walks this earth!" He grabbed the vampire by his shirt and lifted him in the air, over his head and slammed him against the tree, looking him dead in the eyes.

"If I ever, see or hear of you even looking in the direction of an unwilling human or vampire, I swear to fucking God, I will imprison you within seconds. Because you see, I am who the king goes to for advice and help. If I was evil enough to kill your Pathetic ass, I would have the kings full, support to turn your brain into mush" he slowly spat as his face was inches away from the other vampires face.

"Do you understand me?" He asked as he dropped the vampire for a second just so that he could immediately catch him by the neck, pinning him down again but this time restricting his breathing as a warning.

Athan's nails began to draw blood on the vampires neck and he tilted his head to the side in satisfaction as the vampire struggled to breath.

He slightly loosened his hold so that he could speak.

"Speak" he spat as the vampire quickly said his answer.

"Yes prince, I swear on my life, I won't disobey, please don't kill me"

Athan's face fell calm as he simply released his hold, letting the vampire fall to the ground with a hard thud. The vampire stumbled to his feet and ran in fear in the other direction.

Athan watched him run and than turned and looked down at me with a satisfied smirk.

"Fucking pussy" he said as he flicked his thumb towards where he was still running away.

Just than the small human girl caught up to us with her human speed and ran right into Athan.

She fell on her ass just like the vampire did and in fear backed up against the tree the exact same way.

"P p please, don't hurt me, I swear I only ran from my master because he took me. I didn't wanna be here. I just wanna go h h home!"

She said as she curled in a ball on the ground.

Athan sat next to her shaking body and laid his hand on her back which made her jump in fear at his touch.

"I'm not going to hurt you, point me in the direction of your town and I will take you back to your family" he said calmly as she only glanced at him with tears in her eyes.

She wiped her eyes and nose in a sniffle and pointed in the direction of the town we were already headed in.

She refused to make eye contact and was visibly still shaking.

"Brace yourself" Athan mumbled, more talking to her than me as he knew I was used to this. He grabbed both of our hands and sped through the forest. Within minutes we were in town and Athan gradually slowed down until all 3 of us were stopped.

I reached over and combed the small girls hair so that it was straight and neat again.

We walked through the busy streets and Athan's head darted over towards the sound of a man yelling a girls name in frantic tones.

The small girl turned her head with excitement as if this was all she ever wanted.

"Who is he to you?" Asked Athan, making sure it was ok to take her to him.

"That's my friend Seth, he's my best friend. I was taken only a day ago and when I was taken, I was with Seth" Athan looked over at the teenage boy who called out her name.

"ALICE!!" Yelled the blonde haired guy in frantic worry. Athan left the girl standing by me so that he could explain to the guy where his friend was. He didn't want the guy to immediately lash out and think he was the one who took her. He didn't even see Athan approaching him because he crashed right into him and fell.

Athan sighed and closed his eyes in frustration at how many times he's been ran into today.

"I found your friend, she was taken by a vampire inside the vampire forests and I just so happened to be walking with my muse when I saw her being chased. The vampire who took her won't be offending again" he explained as he turned around and gestured me to bring the young girl over to the worried guy.

The small girl flung herself in the tight embrace of the young guy and he quickly inspected her for injuries before turning to Athan and thanking him over and over again.
