Chapter 60

Athan's POV

I stood in front of the mirror and gazed upon my pale flesh. I ran my hand down my face and sighed at the same coldness it held.

I glanced up to spot Heaven who sat curled up in my blankets like a burrito. She looked over at me from across the room and I smiled warmly as she closed her eyes pretending to be asleep.

"Zero and them are talking about getting breakfast, what did you want to eat darling?"

I asked as she shifted herself under the blankets before finally rising from the covers with a stretch.

I smiled at the sight of her bare chest. She wrapped her arms around her goose bump covered skin and looked around in a daze.

"Mmmmm, what are you having?" She asked softly.

I turned around and leaned against the mirror with my arms crossed over my chest.

"It doesn't matter what I want my muse, my question was, what do you, want?" I asked once again as I slowly walked up to the small girl who sat within the sheets of the bed.

I bent down and placed a gentle kiss upon her lips before tossing her a small grey too and a pair of black jeans.

She managed to get dressed just as Zero tapped on the door.

"You can come in" I said as I slipped a loose fish netted shirt over my head.

He walked in and briefly looked around as he spoke.

"We are going out to eat at the small bar across the forest, not the bar from when we first arrived but another one"

I nodded my head calmly and slicked my hair back with my hands.

We made our way out into the living room and Lucifer followed behind as he lit a joint, taking a hit as we entered the living room.

Lucifer made a big stretch as we exited the small underground house as he glanced down at Mara with a bright smile after.

"Your hair is starting to come out really good, I'm proud of my work" he said as he stood behind her and tied it up in a loose bun at the top of her head.

He did the same with his own and ran his hands across his face as a means to wash the sweat from his skin.

We soon got to the small bar and decided we would eat outside and in front of the bar like a few others were doing.

Lucifer jokingly threw fruit across the air at Zero who than started throwing whole strawberry's at his head never once missing.

"You wouldn't want me to get a crab now would you?" Asked Zero with an evil grin as Lucifer widened his eyes at his threat.

"You're a fucking dick head"

Zero smiled and shrugged his shoulders.

" fuck with the bull you get the horns my dude"

Responded Zero as he crossed his legs and popped a strawberry in his mouth.

A blonde haired boy walked down the path and glanced at Lucifer.

Lucifer laid back on his hands as he gazed at Mara in a warm daze. He didn't seem to notice anything else around him. But the fact that, that random guy was staring at us made my nerves spike.

I stared back at the boy and I watched as his hair stood up once his eyes met mine. His eyes went wide as he stared off in the distance.

I quickly shot my eyes in the direction he looked and spotted a tall man behind a tree.

I spoke to Zero in my mind and he only reacted a very little bit to the sudden intrusion my thoughts made in his mind.

He glanced at me from the corner of his eyes.

(There's people watching us, over behind those trees) I said as I only flicked my eyes over in the direction.

He glanced his eyes over in the direction but the man behind the tree already hid himself.

(He's behind the tree, just watch your surroundings) I said as I noticed Drake slowly burying his hands within the soil next to him. He turned his head in the same direction we were looking and squeezed the dirt within his fingers before letting it fall back on to the ground next to him.

He slowly pushed his hair behind his ears as he rose an apple up to his mouth to take a bite.

There was a slight rustle in the leaves over by the trees and Lucifer quickly darted his head over in the direction as only a black boot could be seen moving behind a tree.

Lucifer wiped the berry juice from his mouth and grinned.

Lucifer looked down at Mara and whispered in her ear. She smiled with joy as Lucifer looked at Zero with a smile.

Zero glanced at Lucifer and shook his head.

"No, absolutely not. I'm not risking that. They are too valuable to us and if something goes wrong I'll never forgive myself and neither will you" argued Zero already knowing his plans.

"We need all the help we can get Zero. We haven't allowed them to partake in any of these fights and we all know damn well most of our women can kick the ass of anybody they so choose"

Heavens eyes became wide and she looked up at me with fear instantly knowing what they were talking about.

"Don't worry, they are talking about their women, not you" I whispered as low as possible in Heaven's ear. My reassurance made her relax more but she squeezed my hand as they spoke.

"Why did we teach Lauren how to fight if you aren't going to allow her to actually use the skills?" Asked Lucifer as Zero calmly popped a grape in his mouth in thought.

"Because, we are giants, and the men we fight are giants. Tell me how Lauren is going to fight a man my size Lucifer. Mara, I have no doubt could fight men like us. But Lauren is a lot smaller than Mara. I couldn't see Atalie fighting either and I doubt she even knows how to fight at all. If you so choose to bring Mara, that's on you. But Lauren, Atalie and Heaven are staying with Moon. Unless Athan wants Heaven to fight?" He questioned as he glanced at me from the corner of his eyes.

"No, Heaven ain't fighting" I said calmly as I ate the next piece of fruit.

Moon glanced over at Zero with wide eyes.

"Take Heaven, Lauren, and Atalie home with you please" said Zero calmly as he pulled Lauren close to him and kissed her forehead before releasing her with a reassuring smile"

Lauren looked up at Zero with confusion.

"What's going on Zero"

Zero rolled his eyes in thought before he nodded his head and spoke softly.

"There's some people who are after me, and I don't want you to be hurt is all. These are strong men who even I ain't prepared to fight" her eyes turned to sorrow as she stared up at him and tears swelled within her green eyes.

"What if you die" she said with a whimper.

Zero smiled from ear to ear and chuckled.
"I'm not going to die darling. Will I be hurt? Maybe. But I can't protect you through this one. So I'm making sure your safe"

Just than an arrow was shot through the air and everybody who was outside ran and the person inside the bar quickly shut the door and locked it.

Zero glanced at the arrow than quickly back at Moon.

"Take them away from here." He said more stern this time. Moon grabbed Lauren's hand and ran with her Heaven and Atalie.
