King Death

Chapter 5

Athan gently knocked on the castle door and within seconds a shirtless Lucifer opened the door.

His dreads hung down to his waist.
"It's nice to see you again Luca" said Athan.

Lucifer bowed in respect to prince Athan and stepped aside so that we could enter.

Athan bowed in respect to Lord Lucifer before entering.

The place smelled of sage and weed but the sage covered most of the weed smell.

Zero laid sprawled out on the couch with a joint in his mouth and his arm over his eyes.  Lauren laid on her stomach on top of him. She grabbed the joint from his mouth and placed it in her own causing Zero to remove his arm and look at her.

"You bully" he joked before turning to us and jumping with surprise.

"Oh jeez, you scared the fuck out of me" he sat up and put out the joint.

"It's nice to see you prince, please have a seat" he said with a smile as Athan spoke.

"Aww man, you put out the joint, I was looking forward to some myself" said Athan as he eyed the joint that lay in a small tray with wanting.

"Ha, we will have some later during dinner, how was your travels here prince?" He asked as he visibly relaxed a little more, shaking out the knots in his hair with his hands.

"That's one of the things we need to speak about. The time I have spent within the forest lands have been everything but peaceful"

Zero's face turned into a strong look of concern as he waited for Athan to continue his thoughts.

"They are not willing to submit to the new ruling and only listen when the fear of God is put in them. It's honestly quite exhausting having to scare the shit out of these giant beasts and not to mention the cults that run the darkness with savagery"

Zero stared at the ground in hard thought.

Lauren sat next to Zero and leaned against his body in attempt to relax his nerves a little.

He jumped only slightly and glanced at her from the corner of his eyes and than went back to his deep thought.

Lucifer walked out of the kitchen and plopped on the couch next to Zero causing him to jump again. He closed his eyes and sighed with exhaustion as he rubbed his eyes. He glanced over at Lucifer.

"What's your thoughts on this?"

Lucifer stared forward in thought before answering.

"Well I definitely think it should be put to a halt, however it's going to be hard without being killed in the process. Zero and the ones within our group first hand experienced what those cults are capable of and dark magic I don't think is something Zero is mentally capable of fucking with right now considering his obvious ptsd"

Zero glanced over at Lucifer with wide eyes.

"I can preform dark magic, I'm more experienced than you think, but going up against cults that are used to viciously killing under the shade of advanced darkness is another thing, you all would have to know dark magic, we would all have to have the protection of many spirit guides and strong entities"

Lucifer stared at Zero with a look of confusion. "A a are you suggesting a dark magic war?"

Zero shook his head and rested his fingers on the skin between his eyes.

"Of course not, the lands aren't ready for such a thing, I'm only explaining what we would need if such a thing had to happen" he mumbled in a deep voice.

Violet walked out of the kitchen. "I think we need to speak to the king of the human lands if we want the humans to stay out of the reach of these beings, the cults and the vampires are obviously stronger within these dark parts and our best bet is to first put a stop to their contact with the innocent"

Mara walked down the stairs in mid conversation. Her hair was now healthy and long but not yet dreaded. Her face was clear of any bruises but her skin was scarred.

She sat in front of Lucifer and he ran his fingers through her hair as she spoke her thoughts.

"Violet is right, we need to separate the innocent from the evil, as long as the innocent are separate, the cults won't have anybody to target"

Athan glanced at Mara. "Accept for the vampires, there are innocent vampires that fall victim as well, our children are in danger as long as their families live within the darkness"

Zero sighed. "Let's talk more about this during dinner when we are all relaxed and thinking more clear, for now I need to go into the human city to buy more cigarettes, I'm sure everybody else needs something as well?" He asked in an open invite for us to join him.

"Well, I just attacked a vampire out there for attacking a human child, I would assume there are angry vampires out there waiting for a small revolt, I suggest you and your people wear their masks"

Zero rolled his eyes but grabbed his mask off the wall.

It was a rough looking skull mask that he placed over his face that covered only the top part of his face.

The mask Zero wore out today wasn't for the protection of himself but for the protection of us. Athan didn't need protection as he was 10 times bigger than every vampire in all 7 lands and 50 times bigger than every human. Zero was the only one who stood almost at the height of Athan while Lucifer stood only slightly shorter than Zero and Jesus was the same height as Lucifer. Drake is much taller than San and San and the girls within our castle were the smallest so we walked behind the biggest when venturing into the surrounding lands.

Lucifer put on his goat mask and Jesus put on his crow mask while Athan stayed maskless and Zero wore the mask that made him Death. Nobody outside the castle referred to Zero as Zero. They all called him King Death.
