Cain's POV

Tears filled my eyes as I ran through the forest. Not because of my broken nose but because of my shame. I was ashamed of what I had to do to survive and I was ashamed at my dishonesty and betrayal.

I ran until night had completely covered the sky in its blanket of blackness.

I stopped in front of a big river and drank its water heavily.

A man came out from behind a tree and watched as I drank the water inside my hands.

"Why were you running" he asked.

I didn't answer him and wiped the water from my mouth.

He walked closer and I flinched throwing my hands up.

"Don't come closer"

He stopped where he was and rolled his eyes at me.

"You're bleeding my guy"

"Yes I know this" I said as I wiped the blood from my nose and rinsed my bloody hands within the river.

"Did the cults get ahold of you?" He asked from where he stood.

I laughed at his question.

"No, I'm just paying for my crimes, I am, or shall I say, used to be part of the cults" I stopped myself in mid sentence.

"But I wasn't part of them by choice, it wasn't my intention to hurt anybody, I had to do it to survive"

He stared at me for a long time but spoke gently.

"I believe you"

I spoke right after expecting that his words were words of damnation.

"I swear I'm not a monster!!, wait" I shot my eyes up at the tall man who was now standing in front of me.

His yellow eyes stared down at me through his blonde hair.

"You b b believe m m me?"

"Do I have a reason not to believe you?" Asked the blonde haired stranger as I stood to my feet.

"My friends didn't believe me, but I guess I didn't really give them a reason to in the first place" I said.

He walked within the forest and I followed behind. We entered a house that was dark inside and I closed the door behind me making it so dark that I couldn't see a single thing.

Until the man I followed lit an alter on his wall and the entire room was lit up with orange and red hues.

Just than the sound of a door being locked echoed through the house.

I turned around and there stood a tall man with long black hair and dark brown eyes. He smiled at me and I instantly recognized him.

"Well well well, look who we have here"

I decided to play dumb in order to possibly get myself out of the mess that I so clearly created my self.

"What's up man, it's nice seeing you again, how have things been?" I said with my head held high trying not to show my fear.

The man stepped closer and stared me up and down as he seemed to sniff me.

"Aah, I can smell your fear Cain, it smells quite good" he said as he walked circles around me.

I held a straight face refusing to show any fear.

"Why would I be afraid of you Damian"

He smiled once again and sat at the table pointing to the chair across from him. I sat down calmly and stared at the man across from me.

"Because, Cain, you have not been very loyal to your brethren"

I narrowed my eyes at him and raised an eyebrow.

"How have I not been loyal?"

His malicious smile turned to a look of anger really fast.

"Cut the bullshit Cain" he said in a deep scowl "we have every right to sacrifice your soul"

Sweat started pouring off my face and before I knew it the black haired man snapped his fingers and I was dragged out of the small house by my hair and outside.

I screamed louder than I could possibly scream and the only thing I could think to do was scream for Zero. I didn't expect them to help but I hoped they would hear me sense I knew they weren't that far away as my voice carry's for miles.

The men who dragged me out didn't seem to care about my screaming and tied me to where I hung from my arms from a thick tree branch.
