Chapter 59

Back at the palace

Jesus's POV

Violet sat on the couch and relaxed with her legs crossed.

"He hasn't sent a letter back yet"

I glanced at her and rolled my eyes as I walked into the kitchen.

"I sent the letter just last night. I don't expect a response for days. It will take less time for the letter to reach him than it will take for the kings men to"

Violet rolled her eyes at me and lit a joint.

I shot my eyes at her in a scowl.

"Don't fucking roll your eyes at me. I get that you don't like being stuck here but you had your chance. You could have been loyal to the man who protected you but you weren't"

Her eyes became cold as she stared.

"Not another word Violet. If it were up to me, you wouldn't even be living here"

Her eyes went wide and she flipped her hair in pride.

"Well than why don't I just leave?"

I turned around and glared at her again.

"Who's stopping you? I sure ain't. You've been nothing but a selfish bitch sense I've known you" I got real close to her face and glanced down at her joint before taking it as my own.

"You have a lot of nerve smoking from Lucifer's stash. Zero would probably tolerate it but Lucifer is very territorial and he counts his joints. You're going to be on his shit list when they get back."

She smirked and relaxed more.
"Oh and so you plan to smoke it instead?"

"No, you only took a few hits. I'm putting it back in his stash and you are not to touch another"

Loki's POV

Back in the forests

I heard noise outside as if an animal has been out there for hours. So I decided to climb up and out.

I saw a bird Perched on a low branch of a tree and it flew down to sit on my shoulder.

It had a small letter attached to its paw and a piece of small fabric attached loosely to its neck.

The letter was written in runes but it was good that I knew how to read runes.

I quickly brought it inside and walked up to Zero who was still asleep with Lauren on the couch.

I gently slapped his face until he slowly opened his eyes in squints.

"What" he said almost coldly as he glared at me in exhaustion.

"This letter came for you, it's written in runes"

He looked confused for a second and only sat up half way as Lauren was still laying on his bare chest.

"Are you sure it's not for Lucifer? Lucifer is Norse pagan, he would understand that not I. I am Wiccan not pagan"

I sat on the floor beside the couch with the letter rolled up in my hand.

"I didn't read all of it. But I made out your name and Lucifer's name so it pertains to both of you. It's written by a man named Jesus"

With that he got excited and started gently shaking Lauren awake.

"Hey, I have something important to deal with hun. If you wish, you can go back to sleep. But I don't want to expose you so I'm going to roll you over and get up ok?"

Lauren opened her eyes just a squint like Zero had did and wrapped her arms around his neck. She than glanced at me than back at Zero and nodded her head.

Zero removed his leather so that he was bare chested and laid it over her body as I averted my eyes to make sure I didn't see anything I wasn't suppose to.

He gently rolled her on her side and made sure the jacket covered her well.

We sat down in the kitchen on the pillows that lay around the small table and drank Tea until we heard Lucifer walking around in one of the rooms.

Within a few minutes Lucifer came walking out of the room rubbing his eyes.

He glanced over at Lauren who still laid asleep and than back over at us.

"What's wrong?" He asked as we sat anxiously.

"We got a letter from Jesus. Your name was mentioned as well as mine so it's only right to wait for you to read with us" said Zero as Lucifer sat down criss cross next to him.

Lucifer grabbed the letter and unfolded it. He glanced over the symbols and furrowed his brows as he read.

"The king is sending his people after us. Somebody, probably one of the higher up cults, told him that you were here to see Loki and the king wants you dead or alive. You have a giant bounty on your head for over 2grand" explained Lucifer to Zero.

Zero stared at the ground for a long time in thought.

He looked up and stared right through my eyes.

"We need weapons, I don't give a fuck what happens to me. But it is my duty to protect my family"

I stared back at him and responded instantly.

"They aren't coming for them Zero" I poked his chest and he glanced down at my finger when I spoke my next words.

"They are coming for you and only you. And they won't stop unless they either have your head or you go willingly. Either way both are very bad. But I'm sure you know this"

He rolled his eyes and nodded his head in distress.

"Yes, yes I understand it perfectly. But I would rather die myself, than let any of my friends die in the process of them trying to get to me. I know from experience their methods of finding who they need to find. And that involves kidnap of the people who are most important. That would be Lauren, or any of our women because they are of great value to every one of us. They don't normally go after men. But I wouldn't put it past them if they have the strength to do it" he explained as he briefly glanced over at Lauren who still laid cuddled up with his leather.

He averted his eyes back on us and the sound of her movement could be heard as she seemed to be wrestling with the heavy leather from under the covers before she emerged from the covers with the leather jacket zipped up around her. It was so big on her and came down passed her knees and covered her more than enough.

She timidly walked over to the table and Lucifer scooted over just enough to allow her to sit in between him and Zero.

Zero looked down at her with a gentle smolder and wrapped his right around around her, pulling her close to his side as he looked back up at me and continued to talk with a lighter subject now that she was there and listening.

"May we continue with the next lesson so that I may sooner reach the opening of my 3rd eye?" He asked politely as he ran his fingers through Lauren's hair with such gentleness.

"The rest of your training resides within the spirit realms, between life and death. That is accessed through deep meditation"

He glanced down at Lauren again who's stomach growled.

"Is anybody hungry?" Asked Zero as he glanced at the un open rooms where the rest of his friends were.
