Entry #5

I caressed Cassandra’s cheek as my eyes burned with passion and love. I looked at her brown eyes that made me fall in-love for the first time. We were inside a dim room here at my house. Nevertheless, I could visibly see her, for her eyes were glowing. I knew she was happy to see me.

I could still clearly remember how our fairy-tale of a story started. That one serene night which disclosed her trails of beauty from within her soul. I could still visualize how her brown orbs sparkled under the moonlight that night, letting me drown with just staring at them. Within seconds, she captivated me hastily. And exactly that moment… she had put me inside a cage—and that was her heart.

I smiled as I reminisced that night.

The moon was the only source of light here at the park. I just wanted peace to invade me right now. There was so much pressure at work because I was just new. I was even new in this city. I didn’t even know this park. I just stopped by when I saw this earlier as I was going to my newly bought house. I was living with my brother.

After minutes of walking, I looked around and found a bench. I just sat there and let time pass. It was Friday and I didn’t have work tomorrow, so I just relaxed. The wind was certainly cold. I looked at my watch and saw it was already 11:50 P.M.

I focused my eyes in-front and realized the view from here was perfect. A fountain with waters dancing was in-front of me. It was bursting with different colors. Its body was wrapped around in gems and beads—which I guess were just toys, but they looked real.

Out of the blue, a girl came running towards the fountain. It was already dark, I couldn’t see her clearly, so her face was quite vague. She stopped at the other side.

“I made it!” She screamed and laughed carelessly. Her words echoed through the park, breaking the pacific silence earlier.

I felt a smile creep into my face as I thought of how carefree she was. My heart suddenly started beating fast. There was something inside me that wanted to know her.

I let out a silent laugh. This can’t be possible. I didn’t even know the girl and I was already feeling this with her simple laugh. But still, I fixed my gaze on her and watched her every single move.

She looked like she was chanting something, for her mouth was opening and closing in a rhythmic pattern. Moments later, she was swaying to her sides with just closed eyes. I watched her, smiling. I wasn’t amused, but rather quite awed with her actions.

She walked towards my direction which made me torn my gaze from her. I looked above and focused on the moon. I heard her steps getting louder and louder. But then, it stopped.

“May I sit beside you?” a beautiful voice asked me. I looked at where it came from and saw her.

It was the first moment I got lost in someone’s deep captivating eyes. My heart beat went crazy. There was a tug inside me. I didn’t know the feeling I was feeling right now. I just looked straightly at her brown eyes… and I felt like it was love.

I snapped back to reality and just gave her a smile. “Yea, sure,” I stammered. I still didn’t dare tear my gaze away from her. I was a guy, really, but this was just different. I wasn’t the guy who believes in fairy-tale stories, but I don’t think you’d understand how she just made me feel. It was just enchanting.

“So why are you here?” she asked me, sitting beside me.

“I just saw this place while I was going home. I decided to stop by and relax. You know, escape all the pressure and all.” I laughed. “How about you?” I asked her.
