Entry #1

Tuesday, March 19, 1648
Near the Forest of Seiren
Somewhere in the Outskirts of the Province of Eyshire, Artagis

Princess Arianne Infanta Inera

"Your Highness, might we rest for awhile? You need to rest your body, milady. We have been walking for half a day now since the sun gleams in the horizon. Surely, you're tired."

In one swift motion, I turned around and give a stern look towards Elena, my lady maid and my companion since I was a girl of ten. I cannot, for once, believe that she said such words. Even if she was dying because of fatigue, I expected her to focus on what lies ahead of us. Our future will be no more if we rest even just for a minute or so and I will not let that happened. I will die first before I accept a life of regret.

"How many times must I remind you never to address me that, Elena?" I chided as I started walking once more in the grassy road which I knew will bring me to the last forest that we need to cross to arrived at the place that will save Elena and I as well as my people. I had already talked to her about my rank to be kept a secret. I need not to hear my position in the circle of aristocracy for it will only bring us danger. It always does.

"I apologize, A-Arianne. I am not accustomed to call you with your real name," Elena murmured as she gain distance on me. I heard her breathe wildly like a horse force to run miles which she likely was. Although I pitied her with every ounce of my being, we just can't rest. We were nowhere near our home without shelter, without food, without clothes and without safety. If we were to stop now and darkness will befall us in the Seiren Forest we were good as dead. I heard rumors from the town about the dangers of the forest and I cannot take it lightly. We were almost there after all. Just another land to cross and we will be secured once we set foot to the Walled City of Erykah, the Capital of Artagis. The kingdom of which my betrothed, the king that I was to marry, lives.

I had already freed Elena after we fled for our lives when the kingdom we lived in was attacked, pillaged and burned by warriors from a distant land. She was no maid of mine anymore because I don't need her services for I am, now, not a royalty. But much to my utter surprise she refused my offer and told me that she will come to me as well. I owe her much because of her undying loyalty but I cannot give her the rest she and I needed.

We have been travelling since the first rays of the sun crept in the heavens and it was almost midday. The sun was scorching hot that sweats covered almost all of my body. My throat was dry for I was reserving the water in the canteen that I carried for Elena. It was the only thing I can do to show her my gratitude.

"It is okay, Elena but as much as possible, refrain yourself from addressing me with such title," I uttered as I heaved a sigh. I was agitated of what will welcome us when we arrive in the capital. "Also, it will only take as four days at most until we arrive in Erykah. We need to get there as soon as possible for I am afraid my betrothed will find a replacement for me if the news of my death already reached there. Mourning last only a month and it was two and a half months already since the attacked."

"Of course, Arianne."

Friday, March 22, 1648 (Three Days Later)
Somewhere in the Market of Teria
The Walled City of Erykah, Capital of Artagis

Princess Arianne Infanta Inera

Elena and I arrived at the Walled City of Erykah in the middle of the day after sacrificing sleep for two days; the reason why we were one day early. Relief was flooding in my system as I set foot in the dank but strong rocky wall of the city and I knew Elena felt the same. After resting on one of the big inns of the capital for hours, the two of us agreed to explore around the city today and go to Arcerai Palace, the place where the king lives, tomorrow.
