"Genevieve, are you busy this weekend, or next weekend?" Delphine asked her, she looked up from her phone and shook her head. The two were waiting for Alina and Hestia to leave the bathroom.

"No,"

Alina chimed in, "So one would say, you have no plans?"

"Mhm," She nodded.

"That's great," Hestia said, "Because the formal is this Friday-"

Genevieve's head shot up with a look of annoyance and surprise, "Actually- I have plans with- uh fuck... Tristan!"

"I'm going to the formal too," He shouted from across the hall.

"I'm not going then," She shouted back.

Getting Genevieve to go to an out-of-school party was one thing, as long as there was an open bar and a bartender that could be bribed, she was fine. A school event was a whole other thing, chaperones, un-spiked punch, and cloying boys trying to get in her and her friend's pants. She'd manage to come up with an excuse every single time there was a dance, formal, or any other optional event, but this time Delphine was ahead of her.

"Delphine," She whined, "Don't make me do this,"

"I'm not making you do anything," She said, "You're going to do it on your own account,"

"If you know what's good for you," Hestia narrowed her eyes, sending a shiver down her spine.

"I hope you know I'm not going to be happy about this," She said, walking towards the direction Tristan headed towards, they sent her a small pout and disappeared into the cafeteria. The three girls had already bought their tickets, which meant that she was stuck in line alone for the entirety of lunch.

"And she's reading again, how novel," Tristan said, she looked up, expecting to see him in front of her, but instead he was next to Rory.

"Goodbye Tristan,"

"Did you get the novel thing? Because-,"

"I said goodbye,"

Genevieve smiled to herself, he was truly trying to get Rory's attention.

"What are you doing here?" He asked her, moving along as the line moved.

She gave him a sarcastic smile, "I like lines,"

"The guy's supposed to buy the tickets," He said.

Rory raised an eyebrow, "Really. Does Susan Fauldi know about this?"

"Unless..." He smirked, "There's no guy,"

"There's a guy," She brushed him off.

"A cheap guy,"

"Well what can I say? I like 'em cheap. Sloppy too- bald spot, beer gut, you know, and the kind of pants that slip down in the back, giving you that good plumber shot. That sends me through the roof,"

Tristan laughed, "So who is he?"

"How many languages can you say 'none of your business' in?" Rory said, turning away from him.

"Does he go to this school?"

"No he doesn't,"

"Uh huh. Well look, okay, I'll confess something to you, I don't have a date,"    He said, and Genevieve bit her tongue, there it is, there was the entire point of him bothering Rory.

"Well I hear Squeaky Fromme is up for parole soon, you should keep a good thought," She responded.

"Well I actually thought you'd like to go with me," He said, "You were my first choice Rory,"
