SATURDAY 2/8

"COPS ARE HERE! EVERYBODY OUT!"

Thank God, an angel appeared and rescued me from the torture of having to watch a distorted Harleigh brawl.

I quickly grabbed Harleigh's arm and we sprinted out of Ryder's house, my hands gripping her waist closer so she wouldn't fall behind.

She was passing out again.

I carried her into the passenger seat and buckled her in before dashing back to my seat and driving away as fast as I could.

I never wanted to go back to Ryder's, or another party again for that matter.

At least not for a while, and at least not with Harleigh.

"Harleigh, you're lucky we even got out of there when we did or-"

"I want ice cream."

"You can't just fight people, Harleigh."

She waved a fistful of dark brown hair with pride.

"Should I get mint chocolate chip or fudge brownie?"

I rolled my eyes.

She kissed me.

I was so confused with Harleigh at this point.

But I was hungry too, and ice cream sounded like a really good cure-all for my second-hand hangover.

If you're wondering, we ended driving for another hour just looking for an ice cream shop that was actually open. And she indulged in fudge brownie, while I was forced to getting mint, just so Harleigh could have some of she decided she wanted it.

It was almost four in the morning when we got to Harleigh's. I would've just dropped her off and headed home, but ice cream didn't even seem to wake her up, and she was falling asleep once again.

I carried her out of the car.

"Back door." She whispered half awake before passing out again.

I carried her to the back and figured the door was already open. I turned the knob and the alarm went off, almost making me loose grip of her. She was still somehow asleep.

I saw a flicker of light from behind the curtain and realized someone was coming. Shit. If it was one of Harleigh's parents I was not only a dead man, but Harleigh would think I was a stiff and never want to hang out again.

However, to my surprise it was Ramona, and she didn't seem tired or angry to be awakened.

Why was she at Harleigh's house though?

She opened the door and rushed us in.

"God Harleigh, you had me worried as shit."

"Remy? REMYYYYYYY!" Harleigh jumped out of my arms and wrapped hers around Ramona. She took a step back and coughed.

And then she threw up all over Ramona.

"Oh my god. Harleigh what the fuck!"

Harleigh took more steps back before she was up against me and collapsed.

"She's a mess. I'm going take a shower." Ramona fumed, storming out of the kitchen and up the stairs.

I pulled Harleigh off the ground and putting her over my shoulder, setting her down on the leather couch.

"You're a mess Harleigh." I whispered, covering her with a blanket that lay nearby.

I was completely done being her parental guardian and figured I should go, but I felt too bad leaving Harleigh with Ramona.
