"My bad! I know it's not even getting better?" He asked.

"It will maybe in due time," I answered. I took my phone from between my ear and my shoulder and laid it down and put it on speaker.

I was done with cleaning the things and was about putting charcoal into the coal pot. This is Africa, not all of us can afford stove or air conditioner or fancy things. We're not that poor but we can afford some things like; fan, coal pot and other things.

"I'll send you 20 usd into your mobile money," he said.

"Really? Thanks Nell," I was excited with joy. He's always there for me and that's why he's my A1.

"I will tomorrow, but I hope it's active?" He asked.

"It is. Thank you so much," I almost cried or I did, I don't even know.

"Come on, stop thanking me like this. That's why brothers are for," He said.

I'm so glad in came into my life. God sent him as my earthly saviour. Darnell Ryan, my earthly saviour.

"I'll call you when I'm free okay? Got to go back to work," He said.

"Work? You still haven't told me which work and where you're working," I asked with concerns.

I've asked Darnell several times to tell me this work of his but he wouldn't. He would say, I'll tell you eventually.

"I'll tell you eventually but right now I have to go," He said and hung up.

I wasn't even done asking questions yet and he did. I hope it's not something illicit he's doing like drugs, weed, or arm robbery or fraud or just something dangerous.

He'd been keeping things to himself lately. He hasn't told me why he left CWA. The only reason I knew was because his parents died in a plane crash on their way to Kenya. That was a very tragic moment for him and all of us.

But I'm glad he sends me money. I don't know where I would've taken a dime from to pay my teachers and my way to school.

Yes, bribery in our country is a trend not only in my school but every other school. If you don't do this we won't pass. The teachers salaries are very low, so this is their means of income. That's why I don't blame them but the government.
