I was up before the chicken could crow, before the sun could set. I was told to meet Darnell at 6 at Congo Town backroad. He said that's when his boss will be around. He'd described the location vividly.
I woke up early to see about Reign and the house. Mom and Ryn was already in the hospital. As for Kyle, he wasn't even home. All their schools had close.
I did all my house chores, cooked and carried food for Ryn and Mom. I already assure the Doctors I would pay for the bills, so they were already on treatment.
It was already 5:36 pm. I was all set to go. I left Reign with our next door neighbor Keisha. She always say Reign is a baby, so this was an opportunity to seize.
I was nervous, scary thoughts went through my mind. I couldn't think straight at the moment and the only thing that was up there was; I'm doing this for my family.
Dear Lord, I don't know what I'm going into. Please save me from harm's way. If you're there, please hear my prayers.
I got down from the taxi nervously. I took a bike, rode at the description Nell gave me. I stood right in front of the big black gate. This must be it!
My breath sounded as if I was going in a danger zone.My heart told me to go back but I said I could do this. I wasn't doing this for me I was doing this for my family.
We've been through a lot and with the bank seizing everything Hodge had, we had nothing. I don't think the company would pay my siblings fees anymore. House rent was going to be due, my family life in crisis and my school and everything.
I am going to do this and I'm not backing down now.
