No Show - Damian Priest (Request)

Sitting in my dressing room getting ready for what is the most important concert of my life my evening is tinged with sadness. My boyfriend of 3 years, Damian, the one person I need to be here more than anyone has so far no showed and to say that broke my heart is an understatement.

He had said he would be here, he promised, said he wouldn't miss it for the world because he knew how much it meant to me and yet he is no where to be seen.

Tonight marks the start of a year long concert tour to push my new album, and the whole point of him being her was so that we could have time together before our jobs took us apart from each other but clearly that meant more to me than it did to him.

"Hey Lauren you all set for tonight?" my best friend Jennifer asks as she enters my dressing room

"Yeah almost" I say with a weak smile "Just wish that Damian was here, he promised"

"He'll be here don't worry" she says putting her hands on my shoulders "he's never let you down before"

"Yeah but lately he's been distant, distracted" I sigh "maybe this is the start of him breaking up with me"

"Girl trust me there is no way he's breaking up with you" Jennifer soothes "He loves you, he worships the ground you walk on, there is no way"

"I hope you're right" I sigh "because I don't think my heart could handle losing him, I love him too much to just let him go"

"Miss Jauregui, you're on in 5" an assistant call out and I take one last look in the mirror.

I head out to the stage with Jennifer by my side, I really couldn't ask for a better friend, she is always there for me no matter what and she is the one person in my life that has never let me down.

I give her a quick hug before stepping out on to the stage to the screams and cheers of my fans, I do a quick glance over the front row ad the spot that was reserved for Damian but he's not there, sighing I lift the mic to my mouth and start the first song.

After the concert

Stepping down from the stage and into the backstage area Jennifer is waiting for me with a towel and a bottle of water.

"You did great out there as always" she smiles giving me a hug

"Well at least I can count on you to be here for me" I sigh "He no showed Jen, he knew how much this meant to me and he no showed, no call, no text, no nothing"

"Don't give up on him just yet" Jennifer smiles "maybe he is here and he just sat somewhere else"

"Why would he.....what do you know?" I ask looking at her suspiciously

"Who me?" she asks pointing at herself "nothing, I know nothing"

"Hmm sure" I smile as we head to my dressing room "I know you know something"

When we reach my dressing room I push open the door and what I find almost makes my heart stop, the room is filled with candles and fairly lights and stood in the middle of it all is Damian holding a beautiful bunch of red roses.

"Where were you?" I ask determined I'm not going to let him off that easy

"I was right here waiting for you" he smiles

"I needed you out there" I say pointing in the direction of the stage "you knew how much this meant to me"

"I know baby and I'm sorry I wasn't out there" he says taking a step towards me "but I wanted to make sure this was absolutely perfect for you"

"What's going on with you?" I ask "You've been distant for a while now and now this?" I say motioning around the room

"I've been distant because I've been planning this for a while" he says "I've been nervous and stressed because I wanted it to be perfect, and if Jennifer hadn't helped god knows what would have happened"

"I knew it, I knew she knew something" I laugh

"Baby there is something I've been wanting to ask you for a while now" he says placing the bouquet on the table "Lauren I love you so much and these last three years with you have been the happiest of my life, I can't imagine my life without you in it and I don't want to find out what that would be like" he says slowly dropping to one knee and my hand flies up to cover my mouth as the tears roll down my cheeks

"Lauren, baby, will you marry me?" he asks holding out a box with a beautiful diamond ring inside

"Yes, yes I will" I cry as he slides the ring on my finger and then stands wrapping me up in his strong arms and kisses me.

"I love you so much mi amor" he says resting his head against mine "I don't ever want you to doubt that"

"I love you too" I smile "And I promise I never will"

"Congratulations" Jennifer says coming over and hugging us both "I'm so happy for you"

"Thanks" I say hugging her back "So you knew nothing huh?" I say and she laughs

He may have no showed the concert but he more than made up for it with this surprise and I can't wait to become Mrs Priest with Jennifer by my side as bridesmaid.
