Crystal pov,

“Mommyyy are we almost there yet?” My 4-year-old daughter Jacelyn, who preferred to go by Lynn as to not be confused with her twin brother Jacelan who went by Jace for the same reason, whined from the backseat of the car.

“Almost there dear.” I assured her before looking over at Jeff, my boyfriend of almost 6 years.

We got together pretty quickly after his ex left him only a month after their second daughter Nera was born. She had told him that it was because she couldn’t handle 2 kids on her own while he was on the road for his work but in my eyes that was just complete and utter bullshit. She knew he was a wrestler when they got together, she knew what she had signed up for. Honestly in my eyes she was just a bitch. Anyway we met not long after that and we just clicked right away. And contrary to his ex, I did not mind him being away for work so much. It was one of the benefits of having a wrestler for a dad.

Jeff nodded with a smile “Yes only a few more minutes.”
“I can’t wait to see grandpa.” Ruby, Jeff’s eldest, smiled brightly. Her and Nera had started calling me mom and my parents their grandparents a few years into my relationship with her father. It was the sweetest thing when they first asked if it was okay to call me that, and I’d lie if I said I hadn’t teared up a bit.

“And he is very excited to see you all as well. He called me this morning saying that he couldn’t wait for tonight.”

It was true, my dad loved watching the kids whenever Jeff and I had a date night planned, just like tonight.
Soon enough my dad’s house came in sight and unsurprisingly my dad was waiting for us on his lawn.

“There are my little druids.” He smiled brightly as the four children ran over to give him a hug.

“Hi grandpa” Nera beamed at him.

“Can you do the taker eyes, pleaseeee.” Jace immediately started begging him.

My dad chuckled and as requested rolled his eyes back just like he’d always do when he performed as the Undertaker, which made the four kids giggle in delight.

“Hey dad.” I smiled as I walked over to them as well with Jeff in tow.

“Princess, how was the trip.” My dad greeted as he hugged me.

“It was good, the kids were a bit impatient but overall played nice.” I assured him before he moved on to Jeff.

“Jeff, son, been well?” He asked as they shook hands. “The bump you took the other week didn’t look too pretty.”

“I’ll be just fine Mark.” Jeff chuckled. “But yeah, definitely not my best landing.”

I rolled my eyes, half amused, half annoyed. Jeff always did these big stunts but also seemed to forget that he wasn’t the youngest anymore. All the bumps he had taken over his career were slowly but surely catching up with him. I had tried to tell him to take it easy but he was a very stubborn man and a child at heart. Both traits that I usually loved about him but they annoyed me to death when it came to things like this. I didn’t like him risking his health but he was worried that fans would start to get bored with him if he didn’t do the stunts that he always had done. It had caused a few rows between the two of us over the years. But I loved him and if that meant supporting him even through something I personally didn’t like, Id do it every single time.

“Still you deserve this night out. Just don’t strain yourself and don’t make it too late.” My dad advised.

A few minutes later we had hugged the kids and left to go on our date.
We didn’t plan beforehand so currently we were going over all our options

“We could go bowling?” Jeff suggested.

I shook my head. “Think of your back, bowling would be too straining. How about a movie?”

“Too many things we don’t know. We don’t know the movie we want to watch nor if there are good seats left and when it starts.” Jeff pointed out. “We can always just opt for dinner, keep things simple but nice.”

“Yeah, that sounds like a great idea.” I agreed before noticing what appeared to be a cute little restaurant down the street.
