A/n: I was wondering...

Would you guys like the story to stick to the canon conclusions of the Inazuma arc, or have Y/n and the attendants cause some deviation?

At this point, I'm okay with writing either, so lemme know =v=

Edit: Most people wanted deviation. That's what you shall get. (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

[Y/n POV]

The door was knocked at dawn, partially waking Y/n up from their sleep.

If I had to choose between getting up or being yelled at by Scaramouche, I'd rather die.

"What?!" They sat up in response to the impulsive thought. There was no way they went through all this mess just to end up wishing death upon themself.

Then again, if serving Scaramouche was going to be the same as the way it was back at Zapolyarny Palace, they couldn't be blamed for thinking like that.

"At least this time I can run his errands..." They mumbled to themself. By that point they had reached Scaramouche's instruction-giving room.

"Kindly enlighten me on what these 'errands' are." The harbinger in question asked them.

"Huh?!" Y/n blinked their eyes wide open. Did they really say it loud enough for Scaramouche to hear?

"I know your morning face isn't the best, but couldn't you try to look a little less stupid?"

Y/n was annoyed. "Morning? The sun's barely shown itself!"

Scaramouche narrowed his eyes. "Didn't someone once say they only needed two to three hours of sleep every night?"

H-He remembers that?!

"Starting today, you'll work towards integrating yourself with the Resistance." Scaramouche carried on. "Despite what you're portraying to others, you need to remember the real reason you're there, who you've pledged allegiance to. Do not do something reckless that might end up affecting the Fatui's reputation, and protect your true identity at all costs."

Y/n sweatdropped. "What if someone picks up on it anyway?"

Scaramouche sighed. "Retreat. You'd have failed your mission in that case."

"Oh..."

The grass felt moist under Y/n's feet. It had probably rained last night, though they would be none the wiser. The weather felt cold either way.
