Chapter 26

Jaydee's POV

Sa kwarto. Sinasagutan ko lang ang assignment ko nang biglang nagnotify ang messenger ko.

There's a message request from that girl from kanina.

Hi Jaydee, musta?.

Tsk what's with this girl?.

Di ko nalang masyadong pinansin, bagkus ay nagfocus nalang ako sa ginagawa ko.

Kaso bigla kong naisip si Frances.

Frances' POV

After dinner. Pumunta kami sa terrace ni Daddy habang pinapanood ang bilog na buwan.

SILENCE

"Nasusulat sa banal na kasulatan na huwag papaghiwalayin ng tao ang ibinuklod ng Diyos." sabi nito.

He sighed deep.

"Some might consider it selfish pero pinaglaban ko ang mommy mo. I did everything, even swallowed my pride. The moment I told her about my intention, sinabi nya na agad sakin ang tungkol sa kanila ng--taong yun."

"I know it's a girl Dad. And you should be bothered."

"I was."

"What happened?."

"Your mom truly loved us, especially you. I knew how badly she wanted to get back with that woman, but when we had you she knew that she had to give her up. She loved you so much that she sacrificed her own happiness so you could have a "normal" life. She loved you so much that she chose to be my wife until her last breath."

"No. Sinasabi nyo lang yan para pagtakpan siya. She didn't care about this family at all. She cheated on you Dad--"

"Frances--"

"You know what, just forget it tsk." Sabi ko sabay walk out at umiyak nalang sa kwarto ko.

KINABUKASAN

Recess. Malapit ko nang matapos ang librong binabasa ko.

[ Satan's Lie

Though Satan's words were literally true, it meant something very different from what he promised. God knows evil only to hate it. He does not know evil experientially. Innocent humanity could only know about evil by being able to participate in it. This discovery would cause their ultimate demise.

Doubt The Word Of God

Satan cast doubt on God's Word and character. He denied that God had Eve's best interest in mind. According to the serpent, God was holding something back from Adam and Eve that eating from the tree would provide them. The irony is that Adam and Eve were already like God in the sense they were created in His image.

Become Deity

The serpent told Eve that she would become like God in some manner if she ate from the forbidden tree. Some have interpreted this to mean that Satan promised Eve that she would become a god if she ate of the fruit - that is she would actually become Deity.

God Or gods

The Hebrew word used here (Elohim) is plural and can mean either God or gods. Therefore, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that Eve may have thought she could become exactly as God - in all His ways - once she ate the forbidden fruit.
