Trust (last life, alternate fic) (bdubs/Etho)

{so once again this is a last life spoiler fic!  Well slightly I changed alot of stuff ,but still has some plot from it ^^

Now as for the fic ....well ya see i was wondering ,like what if Bdubs did kill Etho ,like if you've watched both their Pov's , you've seen how many opportunities bdubs had ,yet he did not take them, but then my brain was like....what if he did,  and what if I made it angsty ,so here we are ,a angsty fic with a bit of sad fluff near the end

Anyway that's all I got to say ,sorta happy for this ,except the ending was rushed , Dam last life gave me alot of inspiration tbh ,  so expect more ,hope y'all have a good day/night ,and hope you enjoy this <3 }

Bdubs could feel his heart stop, as he looked down at his communicator, nothing but dread was pooling in his stomach, this couldn’t be happening, he refuses to believe it, but the words on his communicator, do not lie...he was the Boogeyman, and now his main task was to kill some, anyone or he will lose all but 1 of his lives, and he knows by then he’d die a lot sooner  than the others.

Bdubs raises his head to look over at his ally besides him, he could instantly see when relief washed over Etho, and as Etho looked up at him, asking him the question he dreaded to answer , he knew he had to lie, otherwise he’d lose the trust of the one he loves, even know he we eventually have to betray him.

As he answered Etho, confirming he was not the boogeyman, he couldn’t help but let out a nervous chuckle, he just hoped Etho didn’t notice the shakiness or nervousness in his voice, and as Etho confirmed he was also not the boogeyman, he slightly wished he could tell the other male he knew, he knew that he was lucky enough to not suffer this curse, lucky enough to not feel this blood thirst, Bdubs would not wish this curse upon no one.

Time passed as both of them continued to make small talk, eventually both of them found a good enough mine, and decided to go mining, every now and then Bdubs would look over at Etho , making sure the other was there, part was just worried he would leave him and another part of him, wanted to dig his sword through Ethos heart...he tries to ignore that other part of him.

But at the same time, that part of him was getting harder to ignore, especially when their near more dangerous areas, it’d would just be easier to get it over with and kill him but he just couldn't, Etho was his longest friend, he couldn't betray that trust, and he knows Etho trusts him...yeah he jokes around, but he showed that trust each time he’d turn his back to Bdubs, knowing his friend would never kill him… but all that was doing now was making Bdubs overwhelmed, even just thinking about it.

As Etho turnt around once more to craft them both a pickaxe, keeping up with the small talk, Bdubs couldn’t handle it anymore, the urges were getting too overwhelming, as he looked down at his sword he knew what he had to do, and he only hoped Etho would forgive him.

With that Bdubs stepped forward slightly, he could feel the nerves course through his veins, he could hear the blood thirsty voice yelling at him to just get it over with, to just take Ethos life, before Bdubs went to move closer , he couldn’t help but let out a slight whisper

“Etho...I’m sorry”

And as Etho went to turn around, was when Bdubs decided to attack, he rushed forward, closing his eyes, as he stabbed forward, and as he heard a pained gasp, he knew he had hit.

When Bdubs opened his eyes, he could feel the previous dread leave his body, but he could still feel the curse upon his body, it wasn’t until he looked down he realize why, Etho was still alive, the male was letting out pained wimpers, and Bdubs heart broke at that, he wanted to cause Etho less pain , but he managed to miss Etho heart, and now here was the white haired male, bleeding out on the cold stone floor.

Bdubs fell down on his knees, feeling the tears fall from his eyes, he gently took Ethos head and place it upon his lap, he bent down placing a kiss upon his head, whispering nothing but apologies, resting his head upon Ethos head, Bdubs let out a tired sigh.

Both males were left in silence, even Etho wimpers had calmed down, Bdubs would have thought Etho had passed, but his body had yet to disappear in the familiar particles, Bdubs raised his head slightly, but as he did, he heard a whisper of his name.

Bdubs eyes instantly snapped back down at Etho, Etho was looking back up at him.

“Y-yeah Etho?” Bdubs meekly questioned

“C-could you r-remove my m-mask?” Etho managed to get out

Bdubs nodded, he gently pulled Ethos mask, and when he did, Bdubs felt his heart clench ...Etho was smiling? How could Etho be smiling in a time like this, Bdubs was honestly confused.

“Thank you….y-you k-know ….i forgive you? I couldn’t stay mad at you, it’s not your fault,” Etho spoke softly

Bdubs let out a sob, nodding in response

“Thank you etho...i- thank you”

Etho nodded calmly, grinning up at Bdubs.

“Hey could you bend down slightly?”

Bdubs nodded, doing what Etho asked , and as he did, Etho moved up, placing his lips upon Bdubs, Bdubs felt his face heat up, he felt himself melt into the kiss, after a bit they had to break apart due to a terrible thing called air, as they broke a part, Etho let out one final whisper

“I love you Bdubs”

And with that Etho closed his eyes, and as Ethos body was slowly disappearing, Bdubs smiled slightly, he knew logically Etho was going to respawn, and he knew the other wasn’t mad at him, but still Bdubs felt guilty,he knew eventually he’d get over it.

“ I love you too “ 

Bdubs responded, he knows Etho likely couldn’t hear him, but part of him hoped he could, if not Bdubs would most definitely tell him again, he couldn’t help but wait for the future, and hopefully that future includes Etho, but first he needs to find a way to fix the trust they once had, after all Etho showed how much he trusted him, now all he’ll have to do is show Etho how much he trusts him.
