brett's really handsome, plus we're gonna take a look of what's going on in his mind! ;) //

I turn the door knob with my left hand, as my right one was still wrapped inside Brett's. I took a deep breath, and I could see Sarah standing beside my mother. She caressed her hair gently as Mom stared blankly at the wall, designed with white flowers.

I could feel my tears welling up again, and I also felt Brett squeeze my hand in an attempt to calm me down. I return the action with a light smile and a nod.

We enter, and Mom's eyes immediately flew to me. Us.

"Mom?" I croaked, my voice cracking.

A tear fell out of her eye, and one by one it came more and more.

"Claudette." She whispers and lifter her hand slowly that signalled me to come over.

The boy behind me lets go of my hand, and I run to my mother. I hug her tightly, but not enough to hurt her.

She puts her arm on my back weakly, and she rested it there as I mumbled apologies ever since that fight. I apologized over and over and over again, but she shushed me and told me that it's okay.

"I missed you so much." I cry, letting my tears fall on her shoulder.

"I missed you too, sweetheart," she whispers, rubbing my back.

God, I missed this.

Brett's Point of View

I watch the scene unfold before me. I sat on the white couch the hospital had, and as I looked beside me, a table full of different types of medicine was laid out.

I could hear Claudette murmuring in her mother's ear. I turn my head back to them and saw her Mum stare at me while tears fell from her eyes.

I offered her a light small. She nodded at me in acknowledgement. She mouthed me a noiseless, "Thank you." Although I was confused, I tugged my lips upward, and answered her a small, "you're welcome." I didn't wanna ignore her gratitude if she thought I did something for her just because I was puzzled.

Claudette pulls away and she wiped her eyes.

She smiles at her mom, her eyes were red and puffy.

"How're you feeling?" She said as she sat beside me. She glanced at me and grinned.

"I'm doing fine," she says as her voice rasped. The nurse offered her a glass of water to which she gratefully accepted. Claudette and I observed as she placed down her empty glass, thanking the nurse. Her mother stared back and forth between us.

"So... uh, I think you're forgetting something, honey," she said as a sly smirk creeped on her face. I turn to Claudette and saw her holding her forehead.

"Mom, you just woke up and that's the first thing you're gonna say to me?" She sighs in obvious discomfort and awkwardness. She turns to me.

"I'm really sorry, she's not usually this for-"

Her mom cuts her off in a stern but playful way.

"Oh shut up, Claudette. You're being dramatic. I just wanted to know if you guys are dating or somethin'," she says, flipping her shoulder length hair. The nurse exits as Claudette thanks her, pushing her cart as she went outside.
